It may because Snakie's posts are more helpful towards the community and yet he posts frequently. At least you can brag to him that you have Exalted. :P
Don't try to take my post in a direction it's not going. The comparison was similar accounts with similar start dates and similar activities. Who the comparison is was not important. Don't try to compare my Bnet life to his, or anyone elses. Your opinion and and attempt at instigation of a internet pissing contest is completely irrelevant to this thread. I don't have an E-ego that needs stoking or bashing.
Woah slow down there, tough guy. He is correct in what he said - Snakie posts more frequently and possibly (or should I say probably) of better quality. Predator Eagle's post was on topic, your insulting him was not.
And in response to your first post, we get it - you are cut about not having a cool title.
Show me exactly where I insulted or threatened the guy. Or anyone for that matter.
Funny thing about forums. All it takes is one person reading it the wrong way, replying with something inflammatory, and then all the sudden your post means something else entirely.
No one is "cut" about anything. The post was a simple comparison of similar accounts in an attempt to better understand a confusing system. What you think about me is irrelevant. The thread is a discussion about the Title Bar system, not me, Snakie, you, that other guy, or anyone else in particular.
So, again, stop trying to take my post (and the whole thread) in a direction it's not going. If you want to insult or poke fun at me, send me a PM. Or make a new thread about it somewhere. "I don't like Jobe and here's why". Something to that effect. But stop derailing the discussion here.
Back on topic here, Snakie really does post a lot more than me. Different lives. People have different jobs, relationships, school, other responsibilities. His level of free time is likely higher than my own. Which isn't a hard task, I have next to none. I can guarantee that is a contributing factor to the gap. That kind of thing is prevalent all over Bnet. We have folks from all walks of life here. Folks that are middle-aged and have a full family, college students trying to balance a full load of school and work, teenagers and other age groups that live at home and have no responsibilities but lots of free time. There are many Mythic members, whom all have varying posting habits and varying subsequent lives. Activity is certainly a factor, but post count doesn't seem to matter except for the "Intrepid" title. As long as you log on and post often, how much you post in a day does not seem important.
But how exactly would you measure post quality? Or more importantly, how would an automated electronic system measure it?
Number of replies? Can be useless info. We've all seen hundreds of threads with huge post counts that are utterly stupid and useless. Reach Beta forum is a great example of this.
Post length? It's not impossible to type a whole lot in a thread and have it be dumb or of low value. Quantity does not result in quality. Again, Reach Beta forum is a prime example.
Post review? Bnet has no voting system or "like/dislike" for it's threads, and likely never will. So what an individual user thinks of a thread isn't measured or monitored.
User opinion cannot be detected by a electronic system. And it's not terribly reliable either. So what particular users think about a particular thread that is made is again, irrelevant, for the purposes of figuring out this system.
Unless we are theorizing there is a group of reviewers like the Ninjas or Webteam that review threads all over Bnet and assign trust points based on perceived "value", then perceived post quality is not a factor.
It's entirely possible that someone could make an account the day Bnet started up, remain active and post almost everyday, but never post anything of value and basically troll just under the radar of getting banned. So long as they don't get banned, they'd get the same high honorific title bars as the oldest and greatest Bnet member there ever was.
