I believe it's based on grammar, how helpful it is, and how informative it is. It could also be on spelling.

But that's just me. No one really knows but the webteam. It's impossible for an automated system to judge helpfulness and the quality of your grammar. For one, helpfulness is subjective. It would be a -blam!- and a half to program, and even then it wouldn't be representative of actual helpfulness. Grammar and spelling would take YEARS to program into an automated system, and say for example they decided to go that route. What if someone types an acronym ? Perhaps even if someone referenced another user who's name isn't a proper word ? What if someone you quote misspelled words ? It's a highly unlikely system. In fact i believe it's safe to say that it's not what they use to determine trust.
