My post count is pretty low, but still high compared to others. I still wonder what would happen to my title if I were banned/warned.

My internet is also diabolically slow.

That may be true, but I haven't post in the forum for awhile, being afraid of being banned from Nedus. I'm extremely active in the clan, which explains why I have the Fabled prefix attached to my title

I didn't know that activity in private groups got you trust... Hmm, that might explain my title going up the last time I got Heroic. However, would you receive the same amount of Trust from activity in private groups as regular forums?

Wow! 10,000 replies! That is impressive.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading these "new theories."

Sigh, I wish there were titles for members, such as myself, who don't post as much, but help people/stay on topic.

Meh, Exalted is fine.

Can I say 10,000 get?

You would most defiantly loose your title.

If you were banned it would go down to member. Being warned, you may go down to Legendary, or Heroic, but it would be easier to come back from.

What about not posting a lot? Does that adjust the prefix or the title (Most affective to the prefix...)

  • 07.05.2010 10:06 AM PDT

I was gone for a day or two and went down to Heroic. I didn't realize I was on the brink like that. :o

Strange IMO, since I was Legendary for months...

P.S. Got my 900+ days :D

Not posting a lot will effect your base title as well, since posting is a very large part of activity.

I have a question/theory.

If a user gains "trust" from private groups, what is stopping a user from creating his/her own group and post a lot...and then some more, to increase his/her own "trust" rating?

On a side note, if this works, I think it should be against the rules (I did not see any reference to this in the CoC or ToU).

Having been warned before while Mythic, I remember I went to Legendary. The same happened when I had a week of inactivity. I remember that Top_Gun was banned once not too long ago, and he went straight back to Mythic once the ban was over. Perhaps he has a really high trust rating?

I would have to say that groups have such a small influence that posting a ton in them would give you just about the same as posting a normal or small amount in them... In the cases of the users with higher titles with little or no posting in the public forums, it would just be a matter of them logging in and staying active through the private forums for a long time.

I assume it has something to do with it, though it probably involves other factors of activity as well (not logging in, XBL usage, etc.).

Technically nothing is stopping them from doing this, though the groups will be deleted after 60 days without 5 or more members. I don't think it's worth going through the trouble.

I assume so. I remember being banned for April Fools, and about 3 months afterward, I jumped from Member to Mythic.

I think that logging in regularly definitely effects activity, but I don't know about XBL usage. It is a possibility, but why would playing on XBL effect your ranking here on the site?

Nonetheless, I do believe that post count per day is the main factor when deciding a member's activity. (i.e. Intrepid and Fabled prefixes) For instance, I used to be a Fabled Legendary Member, got banned (twice I believe), and because I had kept my post count and activity up, after the ban I went straight back to Fabled Member. It will probably take some time to get my trust rating back up to return to Legendary.

Also, on the topic of "boosts", we saw the monthly boost in effect last Sunday, and I am pretty sure that this theory is pretty spot on. However, when looking at how long you have been a member, do you think a "boost" happens when your account grows older by each year? For example, my account will be 2 years old on the 6th of August. On that day, is it possible that the system looks at your account age and adjusts your rank according to trust factor from the past year and account age itself? I guess I will have to wait and find out if anything interesting happens around then. (monthly boost and my 2nd year here)

That's about all I have for now. Kind of all over the place, but use what you like. Congrats to everybody on 10,000+ posts, this thread has really been a huge hit.

on the other hand, I didn't post at all the last 3 or 4 days.
being a regular member after not being banned for a 1.25 years and being a member for 2.5 years, all while being fairly active.

The XBL usage is a total guess based on no evidence, but perhaps the system takes into account the data (games played in Halo 3/ODST/Reach) that comes in, and then bases that data with the others variables.

I would also add that I have only been promoted or demoted on Mondays. Hopefully next week I'll be back up.
Any analysis of my current ranking situation?

I have been a member of this site for over three years now, and on the day that I received the Exalted title, I also got Heroic later on in the day. In the following week, I became a Exalted Legendary Member for about a few posts (or maybe the day) and then dropped back down to Heroic, and then down to what I am now, an Exalted Member.

On the subject of XBL activity, this might have been responsible for me becoming a Legendary Member for a short time (I beat Halo 3: ODST on Legendary Solo around the same time). This could all have been a coincidence though...

You dropped probably due to inconsistent activity, and from looking at your post history, it is clear that sometimes you will go a couple of days without posting at a time... In fact your 12 page post history is so large in gaps and time between posts overall that it spans an entire YEAR.

But my activity in comparison to yours, for 12 pages of post history spans only a month.

I try to post everyday and I've been that way for quite a while. Mind you I don't expect anyone to view B.net as a hobby or strong interest of theirs as much as I do, but if you want to title up to Heroic again, I suggest simply contributing a decent amount of posts on a day to day basis as best you can. The system will recognize a stronger consistency over time and you'll probably earn back your title within a couple of weeks I would say, (but don't quote me on that).

Then as it was, then again it will be. And though the course may change sometimes, rivers always reach the sea.

I'm kind of surprised my title hasn't changed. I've been Honorable for quiet some time now and haven't been banned or warned yet. Then again, I didn't start posting for a while after I made this account. I was an Honorable member before I made my first post in the forums............

Were you active in the clans and small groups? That might explains why you might have received the title.
