Your base title is a reflection of your trust rating. It seems that the trust rating can fluctuate fairly often. Bans and warnings will decrease the trust rating, but other things do as well. Inactivity can decrease it. And somehow, the automated system has a way of measuring "trustworthiness" of your post. I figure that is the largest contributor to the trust rating, but some feel differently.
Either way, it is not uncommon for someone to loose a title, even though they received no disciplinary action.
If I don't post for a few days, mine will revert to Legendary (usually over a weekend), then back up after I post a few times from work on Monday...

That seems to happen to me as well, except from Heroic to Legendary now. I went on a trip for 2 days, and came back as a Heroic Member. It's kind of annoying to see it go up and down.

I know for sure, i've posted a ton of things around these forums, but im still niether Intrepid, or Fabled, and i've been a member since august last year.
Recently i've been banned, but this thread says nothing about "No bans or warnings" for those 2 titles.
Have I just not posted enough, or does getting banned effect it?
You've only been here since earlier this year. That's an extremely short time. As a result, you don't have any elevated titles. Since you're talking about the two titles involving Post Count (Intrepid and Fabled), I'll put it into perspective. I've been on this account since 2008, and I just reached Fabled a month or so ago, where I've been coming onto the site most days since then, and posting. Bans do effect title, but in the cases of the two prefixes you are wondering about, it does not reset post count, and should be pretty much the same to achieve. Bans take you down to Member, then when your ban is over, it will calculate your new title based on various things. (They basically just take a big chunk of your Trust Rating out. Read the OP on trust, it will make much more sense.)
