I agree with Cobra and Der.

Have you always been about as active as you are now? If so, how long was it before you reached each title?

Hmm, I've had this account for just over 4 years, though I wasn't what I would call really active until early 2008 when I discovered private groups. I was Heroic and then Legendary before they changed the system, then I was dropped back to plain member for a month or so then climbed the ranks to where I am now.

I couldn't honestly tell you how long each rank took to achieve, though the longest span was between Legendary and Mythic.

- Der

Edit - and now I'm legendary again!!!
2nd Edit - and now I'm Mythic again!!!

I've been here a decent amount of time to know you're all crazy

Lucky you. I've been here over two years, few bans and warnings, but I'm still just an Honorable member. No heroic or anything :(

This thread make same wish I hadn't made the mistakes I did when I first joined. I'd probably be at least an Honorable, almost Noble member by now. Maybe Heroic if I was pushing it.
:(

Well, it typically takes 3-4 years for someone to achieve mythic status. And you also have the highest prefix/base title.

5 years and counting on Bungie. I feel old and worthless.

I have the highest prefix, I think, other than absent, which totally sucks I bet :P But I have been here for more than three years.

1. Bans effect your title progression. How long was the length of the ban?

2. Have you singed in and posted in the public forums or groups everyday?

The ban was a 3 day I believe and yes Ive been posting on the forums everyday.

A 3 day ban can effect a user's title progression for about 1-3 months, maybe more. So you can expect a delay in moving on to a base title such as Heroic.

2. Have you singed in and posted in the public forums or groups everyday?

I believe that posting in private groups doesn't effect your title progression. Along with posts in private groups not showing up when you do a search of a users posts, but only your title bar color carries over into groups. From there custom titles are given, not colors.

  • 07.28.2010 11:53 AM PDT

Well, since groups are connected to B.net, participating in groups should count towards activity and title progression, right? I've known members who only participate in groups and have elevated to Heroic, Legendary, and Mythic members. This leads me to believe that participating in groups helps or being active is simply signing in everyday.

It's counting towards activity (signing in), not the title. For instance, I could spam a private group I have to make my PPD 100 every day. However that would mean that my mean (the mathematical one) of posts would be 100, making me get a boost to my title. If that was the case, then people who wanted to get a higher title could supersede those with lower PPD by spamming private groups.

My theory takes after those who have suggested similar ideas revolving around promotions at the beginning of each month. Along with other contributing factors.

As many people know that you will sometimes receive a random promotion at the beginning/end of each month. It's not that you are receiving a boost of Base Trust, but rather that old accounts deletion at the end of each month results in the promotion of users by lowering the Max Value. By doing so, users supersede the borderline of their title to the one above. Thus resulting in promotion.

It only makes sense for inactive accounts to be deleted at the end of each month. As in private groups you are given a probation period. If that probation period's requirements are not meant, then the group is deleted. The same should apply to members. However in the exception that the month of which the account was created. In that the user must show some form of activity before being deleted at the end of that month.

The Quest for 52 is a group committed to helping players complete all of the weekly challenges in Halo: Reach. We are committed to providing a friendly environment and organized forum in which players can discuss strategies for completing the challenges, help others with the challenges, and above all have fun completing the challenges!

Thanks for the info Ninjas! I have been a member here for over 1 year and have only been active in private groups. I guess the ranks have confused me until I read this thread.

So, what is the current verdict on the title bar status? Because I don't understand it. I read the first post, all it said was active for 2-3 years for Mythic. Other than that what effects it? Bans? Posts per day? Length of posts? Number of threads you make? Number of posters in your threads? Number of people banned in a thread you post in etc?
