What I'm pretty sure he means is that Achronos' inbox rarely says anything but "New Messages (X)"

LOL, I got that part. I was merely asking, in a round-a-bout way, if he was being sarcastic of if he had seen a screenshot somewhere of that. Who knows, he may even grace me with a reply.

He's never replied to any of my PM's, but it's understandable why. Good luck though.

Astronomy Picture of the Day!

My brother has been active for over a year...a year and two months to be exact, and he has been banned quite a few times. However, my question is: why doesn't he have the Heroic title yet? Nothing in the Heroic part stated anything about bans...
Ban and warnings definitely have a negative effect on one's title and trust rating.

Posted by: Achronos
...Each type of ban has a specific effect on your rating that lasts for a specific amount of time. The longer the ban, the more the negative effect is. And while you're banned, you get like a -1000000 trust, the negative influencer happens after you come off the ban. These negative influencers last a long time, especially for the longer bans, which is why you seem to think they last forever.
Your brother most likely still has one if not more negative influencers affecting his trust rating, preventing him from gaining an elevated title.

It has been shown on multiple occasions that the act of linking/un-linking one's gamertag has a positive/negative affect on their trust rating respectively. It makes sense that an account would be more trustworthy if it had a gamertag attached to it, because it signifies that it is most likely not an alternate account. The titles are intended to encourage investing into a single account, so punishing people who do so wouldn't make much sense.

The reason why most of the users in HFCS have unlinked their gamertag is for security reasons, not for reasons relating to the title system.

Good point, I had my gamerstag unlinked for a while on this account and I'm still not a legendary member.

Also does any one know how long it takes to get promoted from Heroic to legendary for a old account. I recently came back from not being active on this account (Well recently= 6 months ago). I have got on every day for 6th months and posted at least 8 times a day. My account has been hear for about 5 years, and after reading all the rank theories I should be a legendary member. Any thoughts?

When did your account get Heroic? And do you occasionally make longer, more quality posts? If you got Heroic right when you came back, I'm pretty sure you'll be Legendary soon as long as you keep active.

Are you active within your private groups? And were you banned a lot in the first two years of your account (since you couldn't have been banned in the last 3 years)? Either way, I'm pretty sure you should get Legendary soon. Try posting a bit more than usual, maybe? That's what got me Legendary.

Well I have never been banned/warned, and I am very active in my private groups! Also I post no less than 8 post a day, the most I posted ever in one day was 68. (No Spam)

Now sit down and pull your pants back up.

I think this is the right place so I'll ask here.

About a week I went "dark" from the forums because I wanted to avoid spoilers for Reach. I made a thread about it telling people it would be probably the last chance

Now I was a Honorable Heroic member, I have lost my Heroic title. I'm not sure if this has to do with being "dark" or whether this has to do with my "dark thread" being counted as spam by one of the moderators causing them to remove my title.

Anyone have a clue?

Lolno. It's the other way around, Mods/employess Gamertags are unlinked for security reasons, and so they won't get consantly annoyed with XBL messages. Not for any reasons relating to the title system.

So what are the breakdowns of titles?

Meaning number of heroic legendary mythics etc.

Bungie should make a prefix for a member with everything. So the member would have more than six years on Bungie.net, has not been banned/warned for three years, and has a very high post count.

Inside another dead body. It's the last place they'll look
A corpse within a corpse.
CORPSEPTION.
Win.

i feel there should be a new member title - for accounts created in the last 2 months (same timeframe as an absent member), the title should read 'new member'. this would mean people genuinely new to the forums should be guided, and not assumed they should know everything.

for accounts made in the last week, maybe a subtitle (similar to intrepid, noble etc) such as 'brand' (brand new) or 'recent' could be added, to imply extra help needed? just my opinion, im all for a caring community here on BNet :D

potentially, a new subtitle for those who post many spam threads, or get many warnings - shamed member, or something similar. means that troll thread and spam threads from the same account are noted in effect by the OP. a 'name and shame' approach.

The title system is automated. The only way a moderator would effect your title is by warning or banning you, which you know they didn't. It's just you not being as active.
