The trust system works in interesting ways. I just saw a user (2004 account) go from Absent member to Exalted Mythic member in one post.

Wow. That pretty much proves that account age in basically the biggest factor besides activity. It may even be a bigger factor than activity.

Happened to me after my couple years long hiatus as well. Kept the rank, then apparently said something lewd and went back down again. hehe.

Hm, while I can understand that account age can predict trust, I don't think that it is right to be such an overwhelming factor in the equation.

Bungie should put a list of how much activity you need to "rank up", for perspective on its factor vs. age.

I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum...and I'm all out of bubble gum.

I wouldn't expect Bungie to go around keeping tabs on every member. This November will be my sixth year here and I'm still not mythic. I think being active will really help you, if you care about these titles.

Well a Mythic member should be a active and reliable member! So keep posting good quality post and you should get it soon.

My new B.net account is Grizzled Ancient. If you see him, its me.

So a couple days ago I got a warning. I'm wondering if this will affect me getting my Honorable back.

Come to think of it, I remember getting warned when I had my honorable, but I didn't lose my title. What gives?

Well it sometimes depends on what you got warned for, but the warning will effect only a little bit. Just stay active and post good smart post.

I got warned with Honorable, and I didn't go down. I got banned with Honorable, and that went down.

I think that if you are high in trust points at Honorable Member, and you subtract a certain number from those trust points, you'll go down.

Like, you might of had (example) 100,000 trust points before the first warning. Let's say that you need at least 50,000 (I don't really know how many you need) to be an Honorable member. Let's also say that each warning is 25,000 trust points. The first warning would get you down to 75,000 trust points. The second would lower you to 50,000 or less, what you need to be at Honorable.

Those numbers are just demonstrating the equation. So at the first warning, you had a little bit over what you needed to be an Honorable Member. At the second warning, the trust points lowered below the Honorable Member line.

I started as a Member and two years later I see I'm an Intrepid Member. Then I become a Legendary Intrepid Member out of the blue, only to be reduced to Heroic Intrepid Member. Then I got a 3-day ban, appealed it to a 1-day ban, and retained Intrepid. Then I become a Fabled Member. What happened? Foman told me I had a pretty big history, but I only recall being banned like 3 times in two years.

Wait a month or two and you'll be Legendary in the blink of an eye. Your trust points are still there, they just have a temporary negative modifier on them.

I don't think the specifics of a warning matter, only that you were warned. The system probably sees a warning as a warning, with no distinctions between trolling warnings and flaming warnings (for example). However, Bans are probably scaled (so a 7 day has less affect upon trust than a 30 day, for example).

If you want a title sporadic posting won't get it. Instead you have to be active (posting at least three times a week or more will probably get it for you quickly). I suspect the system rewards constant, steady posting, rather than clumps of high activity. This is because there is a penalty for being inactive. I also suspect that there is probably some sort of exponential model that allocates this penalty. I.e. a low penalty for short periods but as the length of inactivity increases, so to does the penalty.

Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Well, your account isn't even six months old yet. When your account is a bit older (1 year - 1.5 years) you might get a title, provided that you don't get banned often and you keep active.

You have a good post per day average. Once your account gets a little older, and you don't break any rules, you'll get heroic.

That last ban should be wearing of soon, well that's just a guess. Give it a little more time and I bet you'll rank up.
