Yax is a shining beacon in these dark times. You should all strive to be more like Yax.

So yesterday I joined four new groups and now I'm a legendary.

Possibly linked?

I would say so, but that's far from proof. I remember having a discussion with a Mythic Member at one point who was instantly turned to Legendary after leaving 10 groups. I would assume that the system trusts members who are rooted in multiple places since that person probably cares more about their account.

I have a question, what if you don't post in the public forums for a while, and you just post to private groups?Does that count as equal activity?

I have always argued, without much proof, that posting in groups is on par with posting in the public forums, in terms of trust. If it is not, then I would have no idea as to how I have the title that I do considering how much I post in groups and how much I don't post in the main forums. Then again, no official word has been given, so it is really just speculation and opinion.

Oh well I think it does, because that counts as activity.

Well, I'm definitely more active in private groups than I am in the mains. And I think I managed Legendary pretty quickly (much quicker than I ever thought.)

Groups definitely count for something.

It seems so, indeed.

We spoke about groups about 10 pages back. Most of us agreed they count towards your Titles and Prefixes.

And I'm sure it was discussed well before that too. After eleven-thousand replies, you can hardly expect the discussion to stay new and fresh.

I already knew groups were a factor, it just never occurred to me that perhaps even joining them helped.

Yeah true.
What I ment was that most people think it does count.

They do certinly coutn for something. Most likely more trust points because they feel if you are in more communities, you are a productive member.

Yup I agree.

So I should join groups then to improve my title?

Join groups to be part of the community, not to gain a title. Private groups are basically the best part of Bungie.net, at least in my opinion. But to answer your question, joining groups may help you gain a title faster, but only if you're active in the groups. But you definitely need to post more if you want to gain a higher title, your post per day average in only .47, which is not good enough to become a heroic member.

Try posting 5-10 times a day at least, if you do this consistently and don't break any rules, you'll eventually get a higher title/prefix..

  • 09.11.2010 11:14 AM PDT

For a while (about a month) I stopped posting in the Forums and onlt posted in private groups, I made Heroic by doing that.

  • 09.11.2010 11:18 AM PDT

Okay.. so have you not posted for ages then? Because your PPD is 0.58

Consistency is how you gain titles, not little spurts of activity every once in a while. The last page of your post history still has posts from 2009, that's not considered being very active.
