Halo: Out with a whimper
A fan made kick ass 2D Halo.

"The crunch on Halo 2 was, 'Oh my god, we're f***ed. We're all going to die.'" ~ Chris Carney

I dunno, just kinda follow the guidelines in the beginning of this thread. Usually my posting has been rather sporadic, like I might come and post like 5 times in a day and then disappear for 3 weeks, but in the run upto reach i've been almost living here at b.net. I've looked at a heck of alot of threads, way more than i've posted in, I try to only post if I have something worthwhile to say about the topic. I also report bad threads all the time, and any bad posts within them. About 20 minutes ago I reported a bad thread's OP and about 4-5 spam posts within that thread. My very recent high level of activeness must be just as, or even more of an important factor than my accounts age (just over 2 years).

edit: oh yeah, i've also been tagging lots of reach screenshots and I sent like a whole 2(!) PM's recently. I've been using alot of what b.net has to offer lately XD

We miss you Logan.

Can't be too careful with your company. I can feel the devil walking next to me.

How would an automated system know how to factor those two things together? Beside that, Achronos has said that the system uses trust points.

I think that the member titles are based off of a modified inverse curve, with percentage trust points and population as the two variables.

I don't relly think it's trust point's I think it's more activity,and experiance.

Take a step back with me and enjoy a taste of the bittersweet that is our current generation.

I enjoy Battlefield and Call of Duty, and Gears of War.

20 years old, manager of my family's business, aspiring officer of the law.

I love anything political.

I am finally a respected member of the community, as noted by my new title, jk.

At any rate, this post is to confirm that the 6-12 month activity span pointed out is the OP has stood to be correct for me.

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

Does anyone have any idea if verifying your email address helps? I know that linking a gamertag helps, but I saw today that I still hadn't verified my account after almost 3 years lol.

Alright, I am going to use my recent ban as an experiment to see how long it takes to get back up to the title after a ban. I had Legendary for about 3 days before I received a 7 day. Was promoted to Heroic the beginning of July.

It probably does help. Just do it, it can't hurt.

Email verification was only recently added to account settings, if I remember correctly.

I haven't been posting as much lately cause I'm trying to stay dark on Reach till I finish the campaign. I'm still heavily active in private groups though, as opposed to the publics (save the occasional post here in community).
Do we know if participation in groups counts toward trust, given that what might be considered inappropriate behavior here might be acceptable there?

Yeah it was done with the Update I think.

Yeah most of us think so although nothing has ever been confirmed.

Feel free to send me messages, please be willing to wait 6-8 years for a reply.

1-7 hours if you at least tried to make it readable.

Immediately if you are Yax, Telec, or legendary.

Never if you are mythic, you guys smell funny.

so, iv been here two years, no bans, one warning over a year ago, and no noble title?

  • 09.13.2010 1:19 AM PDT

It may be because of that one warning:

Noble - Active member for 2 years, with no bans for at least 1 year. If banned/warned, you may or may not keep the title, depending on length/number of bans.

Its most likely because your Account has ONLY just hit two years today so it may come tomorrow.

Does anyone even read these?

Yes, the system can decide on the quality of your post (as we have confirmed before) and right now I can judge that the quality of your posting is not very good and is most likely why you have not been promoted to Heroic.

You see, if you continue asking the same question over and over again in the same thread such as when you will receive Heroic or Intrepid, the system will pick up how annoying it is to the community and therefore restrict you from obtaining the title/prefix.

We believe that the universe is unbounded: this is not the same as infinite: the 2-D surface of a sphere, wrapped around a 3rd dimension, has a finite size, but has no end. If you start off in a given direction on the surface of a sphere, you could return to your start point without having to turn around -- you simply go all the way around. But wouldn't that mean the universe has an escape velocity like the earth?

I would find it very fascinating to understand the complexities of such Algorithms required to determine Post Quality, or even post repetition, as it must be quite lengthy and require innumerable variability.

Either way, the system seems vastly more complex that I had imagined...I do wonder though, if were still missing something that unlocks the fundamental idea of how the system works. We do only have fragmented ideas after all.

Hm. Apparently I was borderline Legendary, because I've dropped down to Heroic after a day of not logging in.

Haha wow. Well thanks for sharing. Blue Jess, I think contributing to posts obviously helps.
I was just trying to help :|

Thinking more on this subject, I don't think i've gained heroic via the approximate guess of 6-12 months of activeness. As I said earlier, my posting can be rather sporadic (although disappearing for weeks doesn't happen often), but still, it's far from a consistant high level of posts per day and I wasn't actually expecting to gain the heroic title since i'd been here for 2 years without getting it. So, apart from the last few days as well as the odd night here and there in the past when i've hung around b.net for a few hours I wouldn't consider myself to be "active".

While being active has worked for someone several posts above, being active for 6-12 months doesn't seem to be how I got heroic, it seems that just posting now and then, followed by a spike where a majority of my posts have been constructive and i've used some b.net features for a few days in a row has been my ticket in.

The main things are:

1 Posting
2 Activity
3 Following Rules

There are more ways like linking your Gamertag and Posting in groups but sticking with the main 3 will get you more 'trust rating'.

I was the 2nd to last person to get kicked off Halo 2, see the thread Here

Hmm... I lost my Mythic somehow. I haven't been banned or warned, and I've been as active as I always am. Any idea what could have happened?
