Feel free to send me messages, please be willing to wait 6-8 years for a reply.

1-7 hours if you at least tried to make it readable.

Immediately if you are Yax, Telec, or legendary.

Never if you are mythic, you guys smell funny.

And after many posts's, lots of activity and more than one complaint, i finally got my heroic title.

Intolerance is the highest level of stupidity and inbred thinking.

MI: 5213901 UI: 5244621

I decided to pass the time by writing up my theory on the things that affect your trust, and what affects the have. It is only a bunch of my own speculation, and I don't have any proof aside from things I've witnessed myself, or heard from others. I've only read a few of the other theories, so I don't know if I'm just repeating what someone else has said. If that is the case though, I apologize. The following is long, and scatterbrained. Enjoy.

Effects on titles: Three major factors have an impact on your title. They are activity (essentially PPD), account age, and ban history (this includes warnings). All three of these things have an effect on your Trust Rating, which in turn determines your member title.

Activity (PPD): Activity has a large impact on your member title. While each title has a minimum age requirement, a high activity does help you get a higher title faster. For example, the Mythic title requires a minimum two on Bungie.net to achieve, but most people on receive it after three years. If you have a high PPD it is possible to boost your trust rating enough so that you are one of the few to actually get the title by your second year.

Activity seems to also be measured in things besides PPD. Generally contributing to the site increases your activity rating, be it posting in groups, or in the main forums. Threads seem to carry more weight than posts do, and it actually appears that quality posts carry more weight than sloppy posts. And no, I don't mean sloppy spelling or grammar. When people make longer more thought out threads, they seem to progress just as fast as people that make a million posts in a single day. This is either because only a certain amount of posts per day get counted, or that the site actually checks for quality. What exactly defines quality though is unknown.

Account age: I consider account age to have the highest impact on your title, but that is only after a certain amount of years though. Once you hit x number of years (let's assume three), your account age alone has enough power to lift your member title. While this is not always the case, some members are able to reach Mythic status, simply off account age and ban history alone. I base this off the fact that some Mythic members have a PPD of less than one, but have been with the site for a long period of time.

Ban history: Ban history really has no positive effect on your title, but it can have a powerful negative one if you're not careful. What I mean by this is that having a clean ban history won't get your title up any higher; all it will do is make it a bit easier. Instead of needing say x+y amount of Trust Points, you'll only need x amount if you have a clean history. A clean ban history just lowers the bar for what you need to advance.

Now, if you do have a ban history, that's where you can run into problems. A single warning will usually knock you down one level, while a ban will reset your title completely. Bans and warning have a very negative effect on your title, because not only does it set you back, but it also seems to raise the bar for you. Instead of needing x Trust Points like someone with a clean ban history, now you need x+y(2) Trust Points. A bad history makes advancing harder. Different bans also have different affects. Longer bans have a larger impact then shorter bans.

(Note: Locked threads are not considered to have any effect on your title because there is currently no evidence that supports that they do. I personally have had threads locked on numerous occasions with nothing happening to my title. If they do have an impact, it is very little.)

Trust Rating/Trust Points Read one of the other theories for this. <3

Advancing quickly: The typical advice for getting a higher title is to post, and not get banned. While this is the only sure way to advance, I also suggest spreading your posting. Spread your activity between groups and forums, as well as posts (replies to threads) and threads (your own threads). Spread the love.

Or you could wash the Webmaster's jet pack for him. That would get your promoted fast. Just don't scratch the paint. ;)

Thoughts?

I been here nearly 5 years, have a clean ban history, and im an Exalted Legendary Member. the only reason im only legendary and not Mythic is my activity is not as high. ANd i dont think brown nosing would help :P hahah but i like the idea

This account is now retired due to WLID changing. Webteam needs to fix that, seriously >.>

Just noticed while looking in the pro video bugs thread that my old account blue jess has since lost the heroic title thingy, dunno when exactly that was lost, in total the account hasn't been used in 11 days now (and maybe about 9 or 8 days since I logged in on it).

(btw made a new account to change my WLID email incase anyone's wondering)

Well that's what happens when a account is inactive, soon it will get Absent Member and then deleted. (That is if you don't sign on it)

It gives a user something to look forward too, and it helps out the troll/spam problem on the forums. It's alright if you don't care, but other users like to get new title bar colors and titles.
