I noticed that Foman was, but not JAF and TGP.

Damn, I'm slow, too...

Along with Duardo is Skiber (formally THE CHIEF 87), El Roboto, The Slayer, Qbix87, odmichael and Nedus.

Proudly showing off his new apartment to a friend late one night, the drunk led the way to the bedroom, where there was a big brass gong.
"What's that brass gong for?" asked the friend.
"It's not a gong. It's a talking clock," the drunk replied.
"A talking clock? How's it work?"
"Watch this," said the drunk. He took a hammer, gave the gong an ear-shattering pound and waited. Someone on the other side of the wall screamed: "Hey, you jerk. It's 3:00 in the morning!"

Well huh..... I thought I was going crazy because I saw like all of those guys in posts earlier.

Then I went to a group and saw that Duardo had a custom avatar. I was like "OMG Duardo is a MOD!!!"

so apparently, Im slow too. I wonder when all these promotions got dished out.

Hmmm....I unlinked my gamertag and I'm now down to Heroic. I tihnk Linking your Gamertag has something to do with your title. Anyone agree?

Thanks for that Scotty.

I thought you knew :S

Yeah. A new account that links a gamertag is pretty much guaranteed instant promotion to heroic. It's one of the more significant factors, same as it's the requirement for the level of trust required to post in the optimatch. a linked account is far less likely to go postal than an unlinked one.

I agree. I think that is how this happened:

I knew a guy that was a member of B.net for 1 day and he was a heroic with no posts only like 2 in groups (that's how I knew he was heroic.) But he was linked. So I guess that would effect it.

  • 09.27.2008 9:34 AM PDT

I'm convinced that not only making thread effects your title, but the amount of replies that thread gets does as well. I was a Heroic Member for months, almost never creating threads, but replying very regularly. The I recently created a new thread, and after it became a hot topic, I was bumped up to legendary.

Yes it is, I have been a member here since the end of December, no warnings or blacklistings, and I haven't gone up. I wish I could link my gamertag, I have a terrible WLID problem which keeps me from doing so.

Edit- I don't think so Chibi, I have made two threads with around 150 posts each and I'm still a member.

I dont care about the titles or jewelry of colored bars but I will say this, it's adding to the already existing elitism in this forum. In some ways it's a direct relflection of join date so the deletion of such next to posts didnt carry much weight.

Hmm, i think if you go a couple days without posting you go down a level... Atleast thats the only reason i could think of. I went 5 days without posting and i lost Heroic.

Maroon 5 is awesome. Deal with it.

Alright, I have a simple theory yet I found it a bit difficult to find the right words to say it so please bear with me. My theory is similar to a Karma System.

My reasoning came from reading ***Trust is calculated daily, which could be a reason as to why member's titles change.

When you join, you have 0/1000 "Trust Points" or TP(bear with me on this). As a new member, you must earn "trust points" in order to rank up. Say a month of good behavior (no bans or warnings) gives you 50-75 points. A year of perfect behavior alone gets you 600-875 "trust points". A month of report free posts/threads gives you10-25 points. A year of all legitimate posting will get you 100-250 points. Now, recognizing the fact that it takes about a year to a year and a half to become a Heroic members, a year of perfect behavior and legit posting gives you 700-1150 total trust points, just enough to become a Heroic member.

Now,once you reach 1000 "trust points", it increases to say...2250 "trust points" required to become a Legendary member and then 4000 "trust points" to become a Mythic Member.

For a thread being reported, you lose 50-100 points. For being warned, you lose 25-100 points. For being banned, 100-500 points depending on severity. Inactivity for a month will cause you to lose 25 points. Complaints will cause you to lose 25-100 points depending on severity.

Chart

Titles:
Member: 0-999 TP
Heroic Member: 1000-2249 TP
Legendary Member: 2250-3999 TP
Mythic Member: 4000-5000 TP (5000 is max)

Earning TP:
Good Behavior for a Month: +50-75 TP
Legitimate Posting for a Month: +10-25 TP

Losing TP:
*Reported Thread: -50-100 TP
*Received a Warning: -25-100 TP
*Banned: -100-500 TP
Inactivity for 1 Month: -25TP
*Moderators/Administrators Receiving Complaints About You: -25-100 TP

* Indicates a method depending on severity.

would it classify as inactivity if you just posted in a private group?

  • 09.29.2008 8:44 PM PDT

Probably.

I lost Heroic from heavily group posting for awhile.

just lucky, hot topics mean nothing as far as it could be logically assumed.

I have a question. Does posting in groups actively affect your recent posts or activity. or PPD?

Or does it count towards activeness on title bars?

None of my group posts show up in my "All Forum Posts by This User" tab in my profile. I have no idea why. I'm not real sure, but I think that it might. A unnamed mythic member in one of the groups I'm active in has been mythic the entire time, although he has only made 20 public post in the past 4 months.

Wow, I feel privileged to be one of 200 odd members to have this title. Thanks Bungie, great idea!
I feel old now! ^_^

I don't tend to post much, but I spent A LOT of time here. I look at a lot of stats, and usually refresh after a few games. And this goes back to Halo 2 for me. I read a lot of posts, and only reply if I have something to say. I stay logged in too, I rarely log out.

Don't get me wrong, I don't spend 24/7 here. I just come on daily, have a look, maybe make one or two posts, look to see if my friends have played any games, and I always read the weekly update :)

Of course, when I'm playing Halo, I'll be logged in here, looking at the game stats, especially since Bungie have improved the site for review your stats and other people's stats (the "per game" formula makes it so you can see how a person plays A LOT better now, rather than just the sheer amount of kills/medals they have).

So yeah, it's no big secret. Just login, look around, make a smart post or two, read some topics, review some games. Just enjoy the site! ^_^

Subject: FAQ on Bungie.net Member Titles / Bar Colors

When life gives you lemons..... BUILD A LEMON BOMB!!!!

I earned my Heroic Member 2 months or so after I first got Bungie.net account. I got 3 warnings over the course of 3 months and went down, then I earned it back and have had it for 1 month. According to this, I should be a Legendary member in 5-10 months.
