I don't tend to post much, but I spent A LOT of time here. I look at a lot of stats, and usually refresh after a few games. And this goes back to Halo 2 for me. I read a lot of posts, and only reply if I have something to say. I stay logged in too, I rarely log out.
that's how i am

I have a theory that when a forum ninja retires, their trust starts over. For example, evil cam. He just retired, and it shows him as a member, even though he has been a member here for five years, he is still a member.

I'm not too sure about that. Trigger Happy was still a Legendary member for awhile, but he did drop down to the Member title. Perhaps you're correct, but I doubt it's that simple.

Cam's always been a member. Well, at least for a good couple months when he was a Ninja, that's for sure. Little secret to those of you that didn't know, cam hated having to use correct grammar (yea, read one of the PMs he sent me...) so when he feels like replying, he actually has to put effort into things. Well, I'm assuming.

So I would guess that, because he actually has to concentrate to post and sound hyper-intelligent like is the fad for moderators, he didn't post often, and went down to Member status. But, to answer your question, he was a member beforehand.

Hello.

Keep in mind that many Forum Ninjas have unlinked their gamertags, which may have some sort of affect on their trust.

That has no effect at all. The trust system only takes into account your bnet profile. Linking a gamertag is just an option that is provided on bungie.net. Also, some Ninjas have their gamertags linked. However, most choose not to because they do not want to get spammed there.

Duardo was mythic until he unlinked his gamertag, bringing him down to heroic. It has some effect, we just don't know how much.

Alright then how about Reigi, when he stepped down, he had been a member around four years, and after he did he was a member. It took him three more years to become a Mythic Member, even a heroic at that.

Stalts- Having a linked gamertag does in fact affect your trust. We have concluded that if you don't have a linked gamertag, but post in the Optimatch(Which requires a linked gamertag) that hurts your trust.(Which I just so happens to be one of the forums I love to post in)

I wasn't informing you that you were incorrect; I was merely informing you that you were incorrect when it came to evilcam.

Well thanks for the information I never knew that. However, I linked my gamertag but I am currently hiding it. Does that affect my trust? Or is it only if you completely unlink it?

Actually, he was one of the few Mythic Members (before the February site update), but a few bans made him go down to Member. Before the site update....

I don't want to name anyone, but I have seen moderators who are Members, and actually unlinked their gamertag. It might be so that if their account is hacked, they won't have access to the gamertag (or the account, depending on what was hacked). This might be the reason, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: You made a good point, Batzter, in your PM.

I believe only unlinking it affects your trust, but I'm not sure. I would imagine that it wouldn't, because no matter what, you still have a gamertag linked to the account.

Indeed. I haven't had XBL for a long time, but I still come on her everyday.

"Avius custos" is the custom member title for Ninja 0n Fire, a former Bungie contractor.

Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure Avius Custos means Lost Guardian, or Lost Soul.
