HACK THE PLANET!

I wonder if the bonus for posting in the forums = the bonus for posting in groups... Or would posting in groups again less trust.

Group posts might contribute to activity but not trust. You could post things in groups that would normally be against Bungie's forum rules and get away with it.

I accualty think it could be realted to trust because it shows that you are a part of more then just the main forums.

Possible but most likely not. The main forums is where they can catch the most rule breaking so I would assume that is where you would gain the most trust.

What if you are given moderation powers in a group. That could definitely be worth "trust" points because the Admin "trusts" you with Mod Powers.

Um, no. Why would you gain "trust" points for posting in forums where the rules are set by regular members?

That is like saying if you start up a private group you should gain trust because you have full control? Or if you get banned in a private group by a joke you lose trust? I don't think it works that way.

Well getting Fabled is "easy" yes, but keeping up with your post is very difficult. Just make sure you post good quality post, so you don't risk losing your title. (By getting banned/warned)

I thought fabled was like Intrepid in that once you get it you can't lose it unless you get something higher or get some uber ban that wipes it away.

Also, on the note of groups relating to trust: It has been stated before (lost my sources) that joining groups can earn you trust. There have also been cases of member achieving higher titles while only posting in groups.

My theory on the whole thing is that posting in groups has an effect on your activity, which in turn has an effect on your trust. To keep people from just posting day and night in a private group to increase trust, I would think that there is a cap to how many posts actually get looked at, and how much they can affect your trust.

Take me for example. I currently maintain a PPD of only 3, but I am active in multiple groups and retain my title. Active posting in groups, along with the main forums benefits your trust. Posting solely in private groups and the forums also works, but I have noticed that if you have a healthy balance of both, then it takes less to keep your title up.

(Dunno if I'm making sense. It's late and I'm tired.)

True. I didn't log in for a month and I still have it.

Does it worry anyone else that this thread goes through the same cycle over and over again?

It's like Groundhog Day but in thread form.

I was more active, and not banned.
I got a warning though, does that cause a demotion?

After 500 pages, there's no more discussion. This is basically an "answer my questions that I can't be bothered to look for myself" thread, and that's why it goes through cycles - cycles of the same questions being asked over and over.

It's not exactly a bad thing, it's a q n a more than an FAQ these days.

It's not just the questions that are repeated. It's the theories too. I think groups count towards trust, etc. But I supposed locking the thread would only cause people to make their own topic about it. So it's good that it contains it all in one place to keep the rest of the forum clean.
