Does making threads have any affect on title?

The day I got Legendary, I had made a poll thread that became a hot topic with three or four pages, and the poll had 150 votes (I took advantage of the huge amount of activity in the Reach forum after the Forge World announcement :D). That might not mean anything, but it could have contributed to my title.

I believe simply posting a thread just counts as a regular post. I believe when it goes "hot topic" it helps boost your trust points.

I am not sure, this is what I assume.

Pretty much, and thing you do on Bungie.net has effect on your title.

I once heard an old man say " Years ago, i sold my trumpet for something to eat, and know i know it would be better to die of hunger."

I upload a ton of Halo clips on my YouTube channel, feel free to subscribe.

I don't understand, I've been a member for approximately 1 and a half years and I post everyday. I've read all of the theories and I've been banned twice, the earliest ban being about 6 months ago. I just started posting a new thread everyday about a week ago and 2 of those have became hot topics.

Does anybody know what I can do to rank up?

  • 11.20.2010 7:06 PM PDT

Hot Topics have no influence of your B.net rank. You said you had a ban approximately 6 months ago. A ban can affect a user for quite some time. You may not "rank up" for a couple of months. Plus, you've been banned twice, so that may be harming your title progression.

When were you last banned / warned, you must have been at some point or else you would have Noble or Honorable prefix's.

Can someone explain this to me so that it makes some goddamned sense?

I have been a Heroic member for a couple weeks. Then, when I got on today, I was back down to Honorable. I have never got a ban or warning of any kind, post everyday either in my group or on the forums, and have been a member for over a year. Does anyone know why I lost my title?

Maybe a more active member has taken your Heroic? There can be loads of reasons, the best way to get it back is to increase your activity and posting.

Does mostly posting in private groups effect activity in a negative way as opposed to posting on the forums?

Nobody knows. Some say you get just as much, others don't.

I guess I'm one of the others. My way of thinking about it is why would they put it towards your trust points if it's self governed? They don't know what you do in there. It wouldn't really add to the idea of trust. I feel private groups count toward your overall activity allowing you to get certain prefixes, but that's about it.

... but you do know that there are Mythics that have yet to post on the forum. They only post in private groups. I think you get a fraction of as many points in private groups as you would in the mains, but it must be a hefty enough amount to keep a person mythic.

He's just a genius in the computer and game world. Enough said.

This system is confusing and very unpredictable I find. Hell one warning, my first in the 5 or so years I've been here and I'm knocked from exalted mythic down to Senior Legendary. I expected the senior part, but seems strange that the jump from mythic to legendary can happen with a single warning.

Well the warning really didn't cause you to go down to a Legendary, you are very inactive. Just start posting everyday, and then you should rank up.

Posting in eather place both add up to some trust points. As kool fat kid said, there are alot of people that earn their higher base titles from pirvate groups. I have seen many examples of it too.

The thing to remember, posting in either fourm, you are being benifical to the communtiy with thus, giving the trust points.

Just off a 3 day ban here, my second for the year. Have I completely ruined my chances of getting a tittle? I'm very active and have been since I joined in 08, so what are my chances at gaining Intrepid? Or should I just forget about it and pretend that tittles don't exist?

I got a 14-day ban a while back, and I managed to get Legendary. It might take a while, but once it wears off you'll be able to get a title again.

Bans do not effect the Intrepid prefix. It will take quite a while for those bans to wear off, though. But you'll eventually be able to gain titles again, it will just take a while.

I think I was warned one time for having an off topic thread and another time because my roommate (The Coo Frog) got a 7 day ban and that was on the same computer I log in on. The latest ban was about 7 months ago.

Pretty much what Halo biggest fan said. Just keep posting good quality posts every day (Private groups too!), and do your best to not get banned anymore.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

Does being inactive and then being super active effect your title in any way?
