"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I just thought of another question. Is there a system that sweeps through users profiles and automatically promotes them when they achieve the requirements to a certain title/prefix? You know, like how the system with groups sweeps through and sees if your group has three or more members. If so, do you think there is a specific time this happens?

Interesting, I'm guessing the title sweep and prefix sweep are different since I got Fabled today. Though we could be wrong.

Thall.

I don't think there's a title sweep, and if there is, it's probably random. It's unlike Bungie to tell us when X event happens.

Well a lot of users get promoted on the first of the month, so if there was a title sweep then I would say it happens every month on the first of the month.

I don't think the promotion is reliant on the 1st month. In November I went from Mythic to Legendary and back probably 4 or 5 times. No reason, just influxes in activity.

It's been discussed a couple of times, and I personally believe at the first of the month an amount of trust points is rewarded to you, depending on how active you were during the month. It would make sense as to why so many members have changes in title on the first of the month and why members may have fluctuations in titles.

The fluctuations in titles could just be a result of the trust points going up or down depending on how active a member is after a title is obtained.

Why can't we put Bungie Cards here?

There is no sweep in my experience. I didn't use this account for quite some time, and when I started using it again I was promoted to Heroic within two or three posts. Becoming active had triggered the promotion which makes me think that the system is automatic.

So your suggesting at the first of the month an amount of trust points is just given to you? Trust points seem to be distributed continuously throughout the cycle (depending on certain factors of course). Every now and then there will be the occasional "promotion spurt", but these "spurts" are usually on different days. Not the first of the month.

We know we get trust points for account age, so maybe you get those trust points at the beginning of each month. Like a pay raise for being on Bungie for X amount of time.

I think if that was true I'd be something more than Honorable.

If anything, I would expect it to go monthly from your join date. Lets say you joined January 6th. You would possibly gain a slight boost around February 6th.

I think an explanation for the auto delete role title should be included as well.

Gotta love this good ole ranking system, I've been banned numerous times and post once every few months and still manage to maintain legendary.

I remember when I used to try to post a lot to try to become a higher rank or keep a rank, good times.

Do you have a linked gamertag? I have this theory that having an active linked gamertag is a big trust boost.

Well it could also be that he is a part of many groups. (Group activity is actually really big in the ranking system)

A question here. Does post count wear off? I'm just wondering I think I should have reached intrepid by now. I post around 30 times a day and have been doing so for months now (Early 2010). I was also very active in late 08-09 I took a break from this site while I was heavily into MW2 (Don't ask). So does post count wear off? Did it wear off during my break. Also I was banned 2x this year and one of them was recently, could this be the reason?

Well I think you have to keep posting everyday for a few months, and that means everyday. I think if you take a break from posting, you create a bigger gap towards your new prefix/title. (So yes)

If you can't see his gamertag, which you can't, it's because it's been hidden.

But the thing is, I have been keeping my PPD over 20 for months now, posting every day.

EDIT: Considering my second last ban was at the very start of the year, I have been very active this whole year.

Well sometimes it takes a little while to get a new prefixes, the system is probably trying to see whether you will go inactive or stay active. Also I say quality over quantity, your post are very short.

That's how I like them. I don't feel it's always appropriate to express my opinion here, especially with this community... it's full of negativity.

Well, im sure it plays some factor because I remember when I used to get banned my title would go down, same thing when I dont post for awhile.

Also as for the groups, I'm in a bunch however I almost never post in them
