Hey

i was just wondering
How many post count does Intrepid need?!
High post count is subjective, but it needs to be consistent over a sustained period of time. It's been wildly debated, but most seem to agree that it's around 5,000+ posts.
5k sounds about right. That general area.
I've been seeing a lot of people in this thread throw out numbers to try to explain certain aspects of the title system recently. In this case, I don't see how anyone can agree on that when the only official posts on the activity related prefixes are these two (that I know of):

Posted by: Achronos
The prefixes mean different things. Some refer to you not being banned for a long time, some refer to you posting a lot, some refer to your account's age. They are not related to trust rating. There's already a thread about this elsewhere I believe.

Posted by: Achronos
Veteran, Senior, and the other one you haven't seen are for long lasting members.
Honorable, Noble, and Exalted are for people who've maintained a relatively clean ban history (within increasingly strict parameters and longer amounts of time).
Intrepid and Fabled have to do with forum and group activity.

If Achronos hasn't released specific quantitative values on certain aspects of the title system, it's probably for a reason. Trying to fill in the gaps with our own quantitative answers is a really bad idea. People come to this thread looking for definite answers, when arguably no one can give them. The best we can do is give general answers.

All I am saying is that we need to be careful when stating specifics. Newcomers see these specific numbers thrown out there and they believe them as fact when they are really just guesses. They then repeat those specifics to others, perpetuating the misinformation, and then we all get farther away from understanding the system in general. I don't think anyone here really wants that.

How long would it take for my title bar to increase?

Maybe a month to a few months?

Just out of curiosity, why are some base titles screwed up? In the OP it gives the approx. amounts of time for each base title; so is that the only thing affecting that or?..

Win.

On topic: I have to agree with JB, although I think we should be careful with our guesses because, if someone guesses the right post counts, Achronos might change them.

I know I would.

I disagree. We derive these "general answers" from our own "quantitative answers". By having these 600 pages of discussion the community has developed a few ideas and theories that are generally accepted by all and are, most likely, true.

New members come here looking for concrete answers, yes, that is true. But we (the community) cannot give them a definite answer. Our own theories is the best we can give them.

LOL, real rap is not made for you, white people.

We don't expect you to "get it." And you don't, as you've made abundantly clear through your numerous embarrassing dances, karaoke performances, ignorant haters, and pitiful imitators.

You giving your opinion on rap is like a dog watching TV. It's kind of cute because it LOOKS like he knows what's going on, but you know he really has no actual ability to comprehend it.

I want a title naoooo

I could have legendary right now if I behaved....:(

How do you check your post count?

Sometimes I spend hours at a time writing "I am Superman" in a notebook, but it hasn't come true yet.

Even though I don't check this thread regularly, I don't think any new discovers have been made since I stopped (400 pages ago). You can't guess these things, and nobody should be throwing numbers around. It doesn't help.

It is not about perfectly laying out the title system. By discussing we get some ideas like: "it is possible to get Mythic without posting in mains" or "you can get heroic with only about half a year of account life".

These may not be key facts in the "quest to determine the title system" but it sheds light on some of its atributes.

I don't expect to figure it out. I don't think we will.

But doing absolutely nothing doesn't help either. I would rather throw around numbers and be partially right, or even completely wrong.

The highest I ever got was honorable, then I got a 3 day, followed by a 7 day.

And some warnings recently.

So... You agree with JB? Specific numbers are pointless and cause confusion? General information is the only thing with have a chance of figuring out?

Great, because that's what I think. Are we arguing?

No. He states that filling in the gaps with our ideas is a bad idea, because it could lead to false conclusions. I say it is not a bad idea, but I still acknowledge it can lead to false conclusions.

It is not a bad idea because it promotes discussion, creation of new theories, and analysis. This can lead to new conclusions that are widely accepted by the community.

Hey guys I am a huge Halo Fan and I am very committed to different Halo areas. Bungie.net is the best! I have this little piece of Halo with me wherever I go. And no, Halo is not actually pie, it just tastes really good.

This is to a previous poster who asked how to check your post count. Go to your profile overview and click on the link and it should say found X results in Y seconds. Can someone confirm if there is a limit to this method or if there is another method?

Limit is 300 of your most recent posts. There's no method that 100% works.

Oh ok thank you for telling me this. Has anyone kept track of all of them on a piece of paper before? Maybe if someone did this and never got warned or banned ever we could learn more about the ranks? Does anyone feel up to this? Or even use a computerto keep track?

Theoretically it's possible if a member keeps their activity consistent (dead set same activity every day) for a very long time, but that's just a stupid waste of time and pretty much physically impossible.

We don't even know what the system counts as activity, so that's an unknown factor.
