Subject: FAQ on Bungie.net Member Titles / Prefixes / Bar Colors

I tell you, we're here on Earth to fart around, and don't let anybody tell you different.

i find it rather interesting that I am an "Exalted Legendary", when Exalted is no bans for 3+ years, and Legendary is member/active for 2-3, with mythic being 3+.

Not that i'm complaining or anything, just find it interesting.

Well, it's just an estimate. Most Mythics seem to have been her for about 4 or more years.

Think of it this way; all the legendary members are fighting for those few mythic titles.

Its mind boggling!

I thought Achronos tweaked it to make it more stable so it is less reliant on your position to others rather it is more about meeting a set trust point total...?

Let see... I've been Legendary for almost six month now...
Just a few more month and then I will be Mythic.

Althought you have been here three years you may have to wait ages, maybe another year to get mythic. I'm coming up to 3 years but theres 2% chance i'll get Mythic on the day. This is mainly as the Mythic Title Bar is capped therefore only a certain amount of the Bungie.net population have it.

My idea: *all i.e. numbers are random
The reason there were so few Mythic Members when the titles bars where first introduced is because there was a small population of Bungie.net Members.
i.e.
Population = 2000
2% of Members = Mythic
Myhtic Members = 100

As the Population increased so did the amount of mythic members.
i.e.
Population = 6000
2% of Members = Mythic
Myhtic Members = 200

The population has increased dramaticly after Halo 3 and Reach therefore mthyic Members have shot up.
This is my explanation for the ammount of Mythic Members.
The cap is to stop so many Members being Mythic, if there was no cap then 50% of Legendary members would probably qualify for Mythic.

That's entirely plausible but I specifically remember reading somewhere where Achronos said he had made it more stable (i.e. there would be less going up and down ranks).

Does anyone even look at B.net sigs?

If you drop a rank, can you regain it?

In short, if it's due to inactivity, yes.

But if you lose rank due to a ban, I'm not sure.

Yes you can, but if you lost it due to a ban or warning it might take quite a while to regain it.

I was just wondering after having had a thread locked due to me being flamed for asking what a furry was whether this would effect my possible future titles?

Like Hylebos said in your thread, it might albeit not significantly.

I doubt it because a thread getting locked could be to a whole number of things, a lot of which are out of your control.

It really does seem to matter, most locked thread are met with at least a warning depend on the issue at hand, but I say if there is no warning at that given time your trust rating is very minimally altered if any at all.

Face it Bungie has to give a wee bit of leeway for honest mistakes. But who know for sure? none of us do.

The OP can only start the discussion. If it descends into blatant name calling or a flame fest then that isn't necessarily the OP fault. I just think it would be illogical to punish a thread starter with a trust point penalty just because their topic was locked.

Every rule has exceptions and the moderators do know how to tell the difference between a great OP and one that is just going to cause a heap load of bull-blam!- for them. So yes you bring up a good point but I think thomsnow was kind of leaning towards if his thread gets locked due to being in the incorrect forum scenario... Am I right?

Undoubtedly there are situations that support both sides. However, there are a significant number of scenarios that might not involve the OP's input that would result in the thread being locked. If thread locking had a mandatory negative trust point penalty (ignoring the obvious correlation between a ban and a locked topic) then it would be an arbitrary, no unfair, assigning of negative trust. So, in the interest of keeping the system as accurate as possible I can only assume Achronos wouldn't have assigned negative trust to locked topics, instead relying on the fact that the moderators would instead ban those deserving and that would be the method of dealing negative trust. Instead of a double-wham approach.

There was lots of disscussion about this last year. If I remember correctly, most people seemed to think that they do.

If you post, you post. I don't think it matters how, unless it is against the rules.
