Bungie controls everything. You have no rights.

Are forum activity titles based only on forum activity, e.g posting yes and no in every poll-topic you see?

Wow I'm Noble all of a sudden...but I lost Legendary since the last time I signed in. I guess it will come back...in time.

Do NOT send me Recruitment Letters, doing so will get you blocked faster than you can say "Huh?"

Post count perhaps? I have found that after not posting for a bit i go down to Heroic. After putting some more posts in the public forums I jump back up.

I agree, same has happened to me. Being active always helps.

So anyone have any ideas on this?

First of all, the whole deal with hawkeye is fishy in the way that it seems to have taken him forever to advance although he hasnt been banned and is quite active. As for you, when was the last time you got banned? Perhaps you havent bounced back up yet.

In this case I honestly don't know, due to the fact that we members have no idea how the system works. If I went by the rules of this thread, Scotty Owns U would never have even made it to a Heroic Member but there are other factors. Whilst I don't know what these factors are, I have notched up the amount of time I spend on here(which means more posting), which has resulted in the gain of a new prefix, and a Legendary title that has not fluctuated.

The only guess I can take is that either your title is still reflecting the recent bans(in the past six months) that you have received, the bans are most likely also the reason why you haven't gained a prefix yet. Who knows.

This is weird. So my friends, (SCOTTY OWNS YOU, DTA MoonDawg, hawkeye543) are/were all legendary members. Scotty has been banned ten times with five warnings, Moon has been banned twice with one warning, while hawkeye has never been banned.

Scotty has been banned for mocking employees and more, Moon has been banned/warned for replying to spam and bumping, while again hawkeye has never received a ban/warning, I have been banned twice, once asking for a ban and a ban for putting /\ characters in a screenshot thread subject the day after the rule.

Here are the date of join by them (all info. is of 2/2/2009):

Scotty-1/22/2008~377 Days
hawk-12/29/2007~401 Days
Moon-12/5/2007~425 Days
Myself-10/4/2007~487 Days

What confuses me is why I am not up there with them. We all even have link gamertags, which hawkeye just put which pushed him up to Legendary.

So anyone have any ideas on this?

Was chosen to be on Bungie favs by Bungie employees, not a group....no big deal or anything

Sup gaize. My names Kieran and I'm a 14 year old drummer from the UK. I have a second account called PandaSixx so I may be on that more than this.

Cheers for the awsome thread, if this isn't pinned already it should be pinned.

Look, I would be Legendary by now, if I was never banned, my friend join the site the same exact day and is legendary.

I did talk to Scotty about this, and he said that Achronos said something about signing in affects your title. My sign-in was set to auto, so am guessing that is what could be holding my title back.

I hope thats not really something that factors in :/... that would be lame.

It actually might explain things a little.

Mythic members are like people with tattoos. Just as soon as you become a Mythic member, you can kick anyone's ass. It really works.

I'm gonna shut up now. :D
I really don't think automatically signing in makes any difference.

So I think Jun's a master chef, because he takes off his helmet and your like whoa, I think he's a chef.

So to shorten this up, Jun is master chef.

I still don't quite understand the prefixes. Does anyone have a better idea of what intrepid would mean (other than a dictionary definition)?

It basically means that you're been a very active poster for a long period of time. I put a more in depth description and theory about the prefixes on Page 81 of this thread that may answer some of your questions. I'd link you to it, but for some reason my links to individual posts only work about 50% of the time.

Hmm. That's interesting. For the last year or so, I've been anything but active.

I'm so over all of this.

I have a question.

Is creating threads, or consistent thread making taken into account as a positive thing?
(Within the rules of course)

I'd say it adds to your activity but I doubt it is a major factor. Many Mythix hardly ever create threads so don't make threads for the sake of it, I don't think there is much impact.

But I don't understand the system any more than any other member, that's just my thoughts on how it seems to function.

Yeah, I mean I'm not going to attempt to use it as an exploit or anything lol. I just made a thread before I went to bed last night, and I made one a few minutes ago. But in the almost 2 years I've been here, I'm certain I've created under 15 threads. Maybe under 10.

Remember though that the prefixes are prioritized. Even though you may not be very active, you still possess one of the activity prefixes due to the fact that either your overall forum behavior and history is best reflected by that prefix, or you simply don't qualify for any of the other prefixes. That's my guess at least.

I would think that has does have small part in it. There are many other factors that tie in to your member title.

Members shouldn't be given a custom title for activity in Halo 3, it's irrelevant to Bungie forums.

It appears that it is only in the ATLAS group, though this led me to believe it would be a title in the forums. However group forum and bungie forum both are technically "forum" so it was hard for me to decipher. Considering he gets acknowledgement in the playlist info, but not in the community. Oh well.

Actually, i love the dictionary definition:
Intrepid, noun: characterized by resolute fearlessness, fortitude, and endurance <an intrepid explorer>
