well, i've looked at it several times that its either A. some wierd graphical screw-up B. a jackal's shield or C. a wierd looking overshield (i kinda doubt C. because i don't think that the MP demo had any powerups involved).

I see wat ur talking about at the end it looks like the energy sword in motion because the player speeds up as if he's doing doing the lunge attack.

Its right inbetween seconds 4 and 5. I pause right as he picked it up and I can swear it looks exactly like the Jackal shield.

Its not that. If you get lucky enough to pause at the right moment then you can see its completly round then goes to his left arm (dual-wielding arm)

Lets not think about what it is it'll just confuse our limited minds (kind of like the question, "whats outside the universe?" no one knows that and no-one knows what this is...)

and its not a jackal shield

My thumbsticks will be your Doom.... sorry 'bout that.
My Stats

I think it's just the flash from the muzel of his smg or BR. It looks pretty circular but it's just one frame in the animation.
I seriously doubt that we will be able to pick up a Jackal's shield for the reasons of balancing gameplay. The Elites already have full body shielding that's why they don't use the "in-hand" shield... they keep thier other hand free for manueverability and offense. Same goes for the chief.
But it would be cool if we could use 'em, i just don't know how it would affect gameplay (especially Multi-player).

it could be anything from a muzzle flash to an explosion. and like someone said its only about 2 frames of animation! The jackal shield isnt in halo2 (except for jackals of course)

go to the last second. then look at the red guy when he runs over the dead body. For the last second, you can see a blue sheild appear in his hand.

i see it i had to go frame by frame but i see it wait and think a moment though couldn't it be a plasma sword fireing up so he could hit his enemy or it could be a glare

er...its yellow and its not a shield. Shields werent in e3, ask shishka or someone else who played it (not me, i havent)

Ok, on the Opa site (the same page where the pointblank link is found) there is a huge article on what the players at e3 experienced (a complete and rather intriguing list of new features in Halo 2) AND NOWHERE do they mention the Jackal's shield.

And being sworne to secrecy is just about the lamest thing I've ever heard. (hehe I could just see a Bungie dev. telling all the kids "ok you can go home and tell your friends about the plasma sword, new icons, new physics, and dual wielding but you cannot tell a soul about the Jackal shield... on pain of death)

perhaps it somthing that no one here has mentioned. Maybe this time around bungie has changed the way shields react to fire. The shields may only light up in the area where they are struck by a bullet or plasma round. just a thought.
