HOW TO BAN/KICK

Ok, for everyone who doesn't know how to ban or kick, here is how:

1. On your computer desktop, right-click on the Halo icon and click properties.
2. In the TARGET box that has "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe", add:
[space]-console to the end.
3. It should now look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo\halo.exe" -console

4. Now open up Halo
5. Start an internet game and press the "~" button; this should make a Halo command promt come up on the bottom of the Halo game screen: it will look like this:

Halo(-

6. Now, in the prompt type sv_players and hit enter. This will bring up a list of numbered players. It will show their SN, ping, and # of TKs: ex:

Ping TKs
1. silentwhisper 0 0
2. georgeyboy 0 1
3. randomman 0 19

(it will look unorganized)

7. Now, suppose you want to ban randomman. First find his number. in this case he is #3. so open the command prompt and type sv_ban 3 and hit enter. If you want to kick randomman then type sv_kick 3 and hit enter.

Now you've kicked that son of a bi0tC|-|. congrats

Um,... i don't know what you mean by admin. I assume you mean admin = host. Yes you do have to be a host to ban people and you can ban on on a non dedicated server.

Heyyo,

It only costs cash if you rent a dedicated server. Otherwise, you could just use any computer to host a DS. Bare minimums for HaloPC I say is like: AMD Duron 1600+, 256MB PC3200 RAM (it's cheap ram if you buy the samsung brand), ATI Radeon 7000. 1.5Mbit DSL internet connection. That can handle like, 8-10 players with pretty decent pings. ;)

One fellow clan leader inna clan I'm in has a 2nd computer, he hosts a DS from there. The system's stronger, so the pings are pretty forgiving. :)

So yeah, you could host a dedicated server from your computer, and then just connect to it from Halo. Make sure to change your ports to like, a different port number so you can do that first.
