Im using FireFox 1.0

If there is a compatibility problem shame on Bungie. I bet Microsoft forced them to do it.

I tried the bungie site with MICROSOFT Internet Explorer, and it works as smooth as butter.

You're paranoid. There's an option somewhere in Firefox about scrolling that causes this problem, but I don't remember what it's called.

The option is smoothscrolling, and no it has no effect on the lag.

Ive tried with it on, and off.

Rip Saw, you're a looney.

If you're really cool, then get a Mac, and use Safari instead. Safari users get to feel all omniscient, cos we can see invisible text on these forums.

It's godlike!

That sounds like Opera.

Opera's good. Good ol' colourless text. =]

Internet Explorer has too many security holes, and it is to susceptible to spyware. Also it doesnt have tabbed browsing.

After switching to firefox, and using these free programs-
SpyBot S&D
SpywareBlaster
SpywareStopper

I have not had any spyware in the past 3 months.
I regularily visit -blam!- websites, and browse through many random websites that definitley would give IE spyware.

Firefox is gaining market share very quickly, if Bungie chooses to block them out it is their loss.

I noticed this a while ago, and it has been annoying me more and more. Everything on Bungie's website moves slow, or lags. When i scroll down the forums, it jsut kind of blips down the page slowly. ANd the little bungie navigation menu moves slowly, moves fully out in only 2 frames, then the menu's reaction to my mouse moving over it is very slow also. I wouldnt consider my computer slow, its rather nice, but I wonder what the website is like for people with Pentium 2 etc? Right now I am using my secondary comp with an Athlon XP 2400+ with 256 Mbyte ram and windows ME, and the lag is pretty bad. I use 256K ADSL, so its not my internet connection. It lags in the 1.6 GHz Pentium 4 computers at my school, with a T2 internet connection.

You realize that the increased susceptibility of IE is due largely to popularity? If you had a billion people using your product, the chances that someone finds a bug or creates code to exploit your program are much greater than a program with only 10 million users. This is common sense, people.

Firefox is safe for now because it is not the top dog. As it gains and retains popularity, you will see malicious people start to take advantage of it.

I think the lesson here is: Use Avant or you'll be a failure. A failure with spyware.

Maybe if the people who get so much spyware would lay off the kiddie pr0n, they wouldn't get half as much spyware. Worthless complainers. ;)

Use Netcaptor, it has no security holes, you can see color, and it has tabs.

Let's not start a browser war here. You can all use whatever you want, but don't speak badly of a browser unless you've tried it. I've been using Internet Explorer for years and have yet to have a single piece of spyware sneak into my computer. And yes, I'm damn sure of that.

I never attacked IE.... You guys started that.

Im saying their is a HUGE problem with this website and firefox, which is a shame. Very childish of the people who made this website.

You're a very paranoid human being(I only assume the latter, sorry if you're an alien). They're aware of the Firefox issue, and it damn well wasn't intentional. Apparently the reason the scrolling is so slow is because they were trying to avoid a bug that disallowed scrolling at all.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

I have IE and my laptop and firefox on my desktop. as my laptop runs the site smoother, and it's on a wireless connection, its pretty safe to assume its the firefox. i like it firefox alot, but its not too much better and has issues with alot of sites.

If the site were made in flash, then you could right click and look at the macromedia stuff.

So no, the site would be literally impossible to make in flash.

And I'm saying there is a HUGE problem with Firefox and scrolling. It's Firefox, NOT Bungie. Firefox needs to fix this issue because the scrolling thing only happens with Firefox. At least, I've seen dozens of Firefox scrolling isue threads and not a single thread from another browser.
