Eh. The only weapon that I dislike is the needler, and that's only in multiplayer and obviously not because I think it's cheap. Everything else has it's use. I don't feel that any of them are cheap, because it takes much skill to own with any of them, except the M6D- and that's only when everyone's kinda a beginner, due to how easy it is to learn how to use it effectively: aim at the noggin, squeeze off three shots. The other guns catch up with it and even pass it when they're mastered, except the needler which doesn't work too well and the S2AM which does work too well. I don't consider it cheap to own me with superior skill and mastery of the guns. The shotgun's not cheap in my opinion because it's usefulness is so limited. It's only superior at extremely short range, and theoretically can be countered with the sniper rifle at that range anyway. I just avoid running around shotgun territory without one. The shotgun's best for a big hairball up close, but I think that the rocket tube's the best close range weapon for one-on-one encounters. It might even be intended as a counter to the shotgun!
Edit: It just occured to me that we might have varying ideas of what a beginner is. I didn't mean someone who is just learning how to aim and so can't take advantage of the pistol's accuracy, I meant someone who knows how to aim for the noggin but hasn't mastered the subtler aspects of the game. For most, I guess that would be intermediate. Heck, it might even be advanced for some.
