Its a great strategy game and I was wondering if anybody's played it and what they thought about it.

Yes it's an awesome game, but I have it for crappy PS2 so the graphics suck and it freezes. Too bad it doesn't have xbox live stuff though.

Yeah, and they should've had more missions and let you be able to have bigger groups of your people. What was your favorite type of species?

I've been wondering about that game. If they did manage to make a good RTS for the Xbox, it goes on my wishlist 'cause I've seen nothing else like it. I'm worried that it earned the bad reviews I found, though, because it's based on a big franchise most of whose fans are playing twitchy shooters...
I like some RTS games and I think the whole AVP franchise has good potential for the genre simply by virtue of the varied species, but I fear that they tried to give it the atmosphere the franchise is known for and failed miserably. I can't play the game to find out 'cause no one has it since it's not popular. Could you elaborate on your opinion that the game's great? I don't know whether you found and liked the same things I would like. How's the balance between races? How's the pace of the game? Is it frantic or thoughtful and tactical? How's the music and atmosphere? How long is the game? How's the story?

They need to make a command and conquer for the console.. although EA is going to -blam!- it up if they make ANY rts.

I feel that the game is very balanced between the races. The Marines are cheap to buy, and are kinda easy to kill, the Predators are expensive but powerful, and the Aliens are numerous but easy to take down. When your buying unit ( Comm tech for marines, shrine for preds, queen for aliens) is in danger, the game becomes very frantic. You may find yourself constantly sacrificing units until you gain your footing and are able to mount a counter attack. I've only played the game on the normal and easy modes, so I don't think the enemies use to much strategy, other than placing a few turrets in good spots. They usually just take you down because they send out six different types of soldiers to engage you. The Marines are especially pains in the ass because they never go two minutes without calling in a dropship full of troops, but this make the game last longer, which is more fun. There's my opinion.

Hmm... It sounds like StarCraft for N64.

Edit: In case you can't tell, it's a joke. I read about the resourcing differences that weren't described properly here.

IMO it was a pretty crappy RTS (at least when compared to others like C&C and Starcraft) that didnt do justice to the great FPS series that shares its name.

Does anybody else think that if they made an Alien vs. Predator 3 it would absolutely ROCK on Live?
