Here are a few ideas that I think would improve this site:
- Advanced Searching. The search feature should be extended to allow you to search by date of post.
- View Sent Messages. Members should be able to view private messages that they have sent (instead of only being able to view messages they have received).
- Gamertag Link. Bungie.net members that have linked their gamertags (and have Halo 3) should have a link to their Halo 3 Service Record underneath their Bungie.net name.
- Alternate Site Backgrounds. This is similar to the idea of Chapter themes or the backgrounds that you can choose for your profile. Each person could choose from a selection of site backgrounds/colors that would apply to all Bungie.net pages that they visited.
- Automatic Censorship. After X number of “Reported as Spam,” the reported post is automatically censored (the member is not banned at this time) until a Moderator views it and decides to blacklist the poster/remove the censor.
- Bungie.net Friends List. Self-explanatory.
Oh, and maybe move the “Report as Spam” to the lower-left side of posts (near the date) so it isn’t confused with “Message This User” and “Reply.”
I would like to know what your opinions are about these ideas. Thank you.
We've been asking for more search options for some time now, but I'm not sure if it's going to happen anytime soon.
Sent message lists would be wonderful as well, but again, it remains yet to be seen.
Gamertag links seem, unnecessary. It's what, an extra page to load (the person's profile) before you can get to their stats. Don't be lazy.
I'm not sure how the site layout works, whether it's integrated or loaded on CSS or however it works. I'm not going to try and bs.
Automatic censorship, while at times would be beautiful, would is a train wreck waiting to happen. People would begin to report for opposing opinions solely to keep other from thinking a post was worthy of daylight.
And last but not least, the friend's list. I'm pretty sure RB covered that.
