Subject: My Suggestion (The Flood)

Ok, first of all look at [Link Removed]. To me that is the dumbest crap I have ever seen on this website. Little kids 12 and younger post on this site. They read that. I think the ninjas need to be a little more strict in The Flood. I don't see any rules against explicit things. Stuff that might give false ideas to the kids.
I did my job and reported that thread but that won't stop people from reading it.

Sorry if I gave too little information...I thought this was enough.
I have other stuff but I won't dish it out right now.

=)

Edit: [Link Removed]

Edit 2: Sorry but something is telling me not to let this thread go without a fight.

Edit 3: I'll remove links now. =)

wow, i totally agree with you there. I also reported it. IDK if it will help but I didn't quite read your post up to the part where you said that you reported it.

People have enough issues without others giving them ideas.

Thats not all either. There is this thread about ways to kill others, also reported.

Well it doesnt exactly help that you are cross advertising it, report it and move on. The mods cant be online 24/7, give them a break.

I don't know why you are seeing it as a cross advertisement.
I never said anything about the extra hours for the mods.
I simply suggested that they should be a little more strict in The Flood.

I think maybe you missed the point of what I'm trying to say here.
Read the post over again. I don't want to explain myself twice.

I read your OP post and the threads you are refering to are relatively new and when there are no mods on they cant lock them. So it has nothing to do with them being strict or not, the threads would probably have been locked pretty quickly if they had been on. Doesnt take a brain surgeon to figure this out so whining about it here is leading to nothing other than that more people are looking through the threads you want to avoid.

Furthermore, explicit things are handled in the ToU.

And yet I see no link in The Flood to obey the ToU and CoC. Just writing saying to adhere. Something that can be misread or avoided easily.

The ToU and CoC arent forum specific, theyre applied as soon as someone enters the site and thats the reason to why they can be found on the bottom of the page, on any page on B.net, at all times.

The Flood is a forum where things should be looser, less strict, than other forums. Yes, every once in a while we'll see this horrendous threads pop up and last a while because the mods don't visit the Flood as much, but that's why we have that new shiny button on the bottom of a post.
If you see something like that, do what you did, report and leave. The mods will see it and take care of it eventually.

And then they get banned, or the thread is locked.

If they can't be bothered to read the rules that's there problem.

And, if you look at the OP's email in that thread you can tell he's a troll and just wants to cause trouble. Newer members feed right into it and some "witty" older members like myself don't help by fighting spam with spam.
There will always be people like that and the mods will take care of them how they see fit.

As nice as you guys were at ripping apart my thread, I still think the mods should add a quote or something in the rules about offensive material. =)

Well honestly Coffey, I always figured this was enough. I mean, that is stickied for people to read, and if they do not follow those rules they get banned and or warned. I think that sticky I linked you to sums it all up. If more was to be added, ihe would probably end up repeating what he already said, Adhere to Bungie's Code of Conduct and Terms of Use.. I'm a bit sleepy at the moment, so sorry if that did not make too much sense.

You missed the point like Vader missed the banshee, your whole argument is covered in bees.
Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

Seriously why do we have 50 year old single women on this forum. Good parenting starts at the home not on the Internet. Let the children have their dumb thread it'll probably die a week from now.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Sorry. I was asleep while the thread in question was posted.

They're allowing you to sleep now? The regulations of moderatorship are starting to slack; pretty soon a few minutes of fresh air will be alloted every day, and we'll have runaway Indoctrinated roaming all over the damn place.

On a much more serious note, Recon brings up the most important issue here on Bungie.net, and people's egos are getting in the way of allowing the site, allowing with its members, to reach the next level of maturity. Sometime, hopefully sooner than later, personal responsibility will be realized by more people to be your own task; the rest of us are getting jaded of having to hold your hand.

Bungie.net is like your girlfriend who is now newly pregnant with your child. You've got several options: You could get an abortion, and pretend like it never happened. You could run away and leave your girlfriend to worry about it herself. You could go through with the pregnancy, and put the baby up for adoption; this would allow someone else to take care of the problem for you. Finally, you could take responsibility for your actions and be the mature father; taking care of your child appropriately, raising it as best you can, and giving up behaviors that work against this. I sincerely hope the correct choice is visible to you all.

This certainly ain't Neverland, you'll have to grow up eventually; better to adopt and embrace it than have it forced on you.

I really liked Shishka's more recent comment about how he always viewed the common Flood goers as people who can't quite figure out the reason Bungie.net is even here. He has a delicious point.

We're the Flintstones kids, ten million strong and growing...

Glass Galaxies - a theme for bungie.net

Per audacia ad astra. Halo Reach | Destiny

Light the ring. Destroy The Flood.

How about a thumbs up/down rating system such as the ones on YouTube/Digg, which can be used to rate posts based on content. For example, a spam thread would most likely be reported as spam, but it could also be given a thumbs down. If a topic or post receives more thumbs down than thumbs up, it is hidden and gives users a warning before reading it. It would help seperate the great posts from the spam.

Controlling fission events without incident since May, 2012.

Sadly, we haven't found the cure for idiocy. Don't think the ninjas aren't strict in the flood, they just aren't around. You seriously think they would let a thread making fun of someone else for suicide keep going? They're not that twisted.

Oh, and in response to Zag's post, I liked it too. Kinda helped me refocus my idea on the forum.

So now I'm a beta tester. Let's see where this goes.

Now that I have responded to what I think is a larger problem (the idea that threads like this help), I can go take care of this minor incident.
Ouh! Burn!

That was so good it has to be fattening.

I love the smell of napalm in the morning."

I made a suggestion and you guys gave me a reply. This seems pretty natural. Even if I did get told by Recon. =)

Stop using my words!

Also, I agree.

The Flood is like the bad part of town that you really don't want your kids to go to, then they sneak out and go there to do drugs with their friends there.
