I am a HARDCORE Halo and Halo 2 player on the Xbox...and I recently picked up Halo PC...and I got myself a dual analog controller (Logitech RumblePad 2).
Heres my problem...the default settings of the dual ananlog are just plain SCREWED. I have tried to screw around with the sensitivity and the deadzone but havent been able to get it right...I'm hoping there is SOMEONE out there who has had the same issues and perhaps even the same controller who can help me configure it to respond much like the controls for Halo on the Xbox.

...I dont wanna suck on Halo PC multiplayer ANYMORE!!
.....HELP ME!!
.........FOR GODS SAKE PLEASE!!!

Well the first thing i can say is if you want to do well on halo pc online...toss the controller. Take it back and play with the mouse and keyboard! One its alot less compatability issuse of course, and secondly you can react and aim alot more precisely with the mouse than you can with any controller any day.

Buddy, unlike the other forums loaded with crap, H:PC has fewer people. However, the quality of posts is significantly higher.

I got the same controller. TAKE IT BACK NOW!!! Logitech bases their controllers off of the PS2 design, and if you've ever played playstation, the dead zone is terrible (hence why their FPS's have terrible control all the time). I took mine back not only because of that, but because it went crazy quite often. It would lock up, too.

Basically, unless you want to get owned by pistols, use a mouse and keyboard. Head shots are a breeze with a mouse, but movement and actions are a -blam!- with the keyboad, sometimes. If you really want a controller, get the usb controller adapter for the xbox controller. Just search "xbox usb controller adapter" on google and you'll get lots of sites. However, I really recommend staying away from controllers.

Heyyo,

Another aspect to take into mind is that there's no autoaim on HaloPC. Not for a mouse, not for the keyboard, not for a gamepad, and not even if you use a xbox controller.

If you want force feedback from your mouse? just get the Logitech iFeel mouse, lolz.. Pretty funny mouse, only one I know with force feedback. ;)

Then get that touchsense gaming software thing and there ya go, force feedback emulation all the time.

Wow, I've really gotta start makin' tutorials and linking them from these forums to save my wirst the pain. :p

I use a Saitek P2500 Gamepad, and it rocks. WHUPS that Logitech one easily. Force Feedback, lots of buttons, quadruple the ability to program your controller (Digital Mode, Analog Mode, Shifted Digital Mode, Shifted Analog Mode).

For EG:

Analog Mode, you have your 2nd joystick set to your mouse's x and y axis (emulated mouse, w00t!) While in Shifted analog mode it's set to some random keys on the keyboard (stuff like up=Left-CTRL, down=Left-Shift... etc).

It's built to be like a PS2 gamepad, but its deadzone works right. It autoadjusts the joystick's limits by how far you push your joystick in each direction. :)

OK first off....who the hell HASNT beat both halos on legendary??...Its not THAT hard, kid.
I do agree that the mouse/keyboard is better for aiming than the dual analog....but not when youve gotten quite used to the xbox controls...Back when I played Unreal and Half-life I was one with my mouse and keyborad, but now not so much.

the thing is....I NEVER ASKED ANYONE FOR THEIR OPINION ON WHICH WAS BETTER: MOUSE N KEYBOARD OR THE DUAL ANALOG.....I JUST ASKED FOR HELP CONFIGURING THE DUAL ANALOG...SO IF THE PEOPLE WHO POST HERE ARE SO MUCH SMARTER OR WHATEVER, THEN WHY ARE THEY WASTING THEIR TME AND MINE ANSWERING POSTS WITHOUTH HELPING ANYONE.

Calm down dude!... Getting all stressed out isn't going to do you any favours and it will just make people not want to answer your questions... Be patient.

Now, I know where you are coming from. The third party controllers out there aren't particularly wonderfull.

If you are like you say you are, as in you have always played the XBox, why not just take your controller back and use the XBox pad? It does take a little bit of getting used to, because the experience isn't the same as it is on the 'Box, but at the end of the day you can't beat it in my opinion! [insert keyboard/ mouse arguments here... lol]

If you are in the UK, you can buy the USB adapters at a reasonable price with next day delivery from HERE .

Just remember... try and calm down a bit, OK?

Heyyo,

Oops, forgot to mention this before... have you tried getting new drivers for your gamepad? usually they help A LOT. I needed new drivers for my gamepad cause I couldn't program it before...

go to http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/categories/CA/EN, CRID=1784 and scavenege around there for drivers.
