i like CoD4 better because its new to me, unlike halo 3. i thought halo 3 was going to be way better than it is considering how good halo 2 was. i guess they lost me with no custom game finder. thats where all the fun would be but since i cant find any games, i dont really like halo anymore. And that custom game finder website isnt good. i shouldnt have to play when someone schedules it, i should play whenever i feel like it. just sayin that they should've put more into halo 3 with all that time. Or listen to the players to what THEY want.

Halo 3 is pussification. The game was tailored to the casual gamer at the expense of player potential. Over-balancing the weapons, slowing the weapon switching speed and over-cluttering the maps was done to appease the complaints of the weak players from Halo 2 and the unrealistic wishful thinking balance fanatics.

A game that caters to the weak and misguided deserves nothing but contempt.

And you are still here, posting on this Forum...why?
What he's saying has a lot of merit. You may not like it, I may not like the way he goes about saying it, but he has the right to voice his opinion of how Bungie has taken a stab at their long-time fanbase for personal gain.

So here's some advice. Hookers. You give them your money. they give you a few moments of happiness. Then you go home. The way it was meant to be. Posted by: Blackbird42
Actually I listened to the audio and he said something about the body rewarding social interaction because is was necessary to survive... well so was the appendix, and now all the appendix does is explode and kill you.

Why do people still play CoD 4? It gets repetitive in a few hours.

This doesn't make an ounce of sense. When you say "balance fanatics" don't you mean people who play fairly? Halo 2's maps were rushed, and therefore were not balanced. Players could find weaknesses in the maps, and exploit them to get an advantage. That's not my idea of a good time. I would rather lose a balanced game in Halo 3, than win a game in Halo 2 by super jumping out of the map and owning everyone with an auto-aiming snipe rifle.

Sadly, this post is Quoted for Truth...

Bungie is stepping on their fans to make money, and now it's catching up with them.

Egocentrism for the win!
Look, everyone is entitled to their opinion. But they did not step on the fans. And nothing is catching up to them.
I sympathize if the game is not what some people wanted it to be. But if the game were catered to your exact specifications, a lot of other people would also be saying the game was made to exclude them.
The one great thing Halo does that a lot of other games don't is allow you to play the game however you want and modify attributes, game types, etc.
That is something nobody ever gives them credit for. Most of these debates would not even occur if Bungie acted like a lot of game developers and made a game, released it, and walked away.

The problem is, Halo 3's fanbase consists generally of casual gamers.

Interesting, isn't it? No wonder so many people are still playing it, loving it, enjoying it, and a small part is complaining on the forums about it. The majority of topic starters on these forums don't really represent the community as a whole. If anything, they're the few rioters that exist.
That "small part" is actually bigger than you give it credit for. Theres a ton of anti-Halo threads here.

Halo 3's fanbase consists of casual players because Bungie designed and marketed the game towards casual players, not their fanbase. Those fans have the right to be pissed off when Bungie sells them out to make money.

Freedom of Speech does not equal "Freedom from Consequences when one speaks".

It is a right, and all rights have responsibilities associated with them. Ignore the responsibility, and you tend to lose the right.

I've read his other posts, saying the exact same thing (but more lengthy), yet he doesn't seem to understand why some changes were necessary for H3 -- and it wasn't to "dumb down" the game like he believes. Yes, he's entitled to his opinion...what I don't understand is if he hates it so much, why does he still come here? The way he insults others contributes nothing, and creates a lot of malice and flaming. We don't need that here.

if you absolutely have to start a problem about Game vs. Game.

do it on neutral ground like Xbox.com

Feel free to send me friend requests!

the map editor and saved films in COD4 are way more fun and innovative than those in Halo 3.

...wait a second...

COD4 is awesome, easily one of my favorite games. (Just got it on my own Box but I've played it at friend's houses.) But it doesn't have anything on Halo 3.

Do you think people on COD4 threads are trying to prove that Halo 3 is better? I doubt it. Who's trying to impress who? Halo fans don't go around talking smack for the game because it more or less speaks for itself.

I don't mean to come off as an egotist, but I'm not going to sit here and agree with what Bungie's done when I seriously believe it's wrong. At the end of they day, it's not a huge problem, but when I'm talking about it to people who care about Halo, I'm going to be honest.

The options aren't there. Where our options to balance specific weapons? Spawn weapons and powerups on set timers? Create a controllable player spawn system? We have the tools available to make a goofy gametype, but not a serious one.

Read this thread I wrote. I think it'll shed light onto what people like me have a problem with.

Halo 3 was very good, but I thought Bungie had rushed to finish it. The entire story for halo 3 could have spanned 2 games, not just one. Like Halo 3 was about kicking the covenant off of earth and halo 4 was about the battle for the ark. instead, halo 3 was short, quick and dissapointing. it was fun, but just didnt satisfy me. At least multiplayer is ace.

Big ten four on that Cowboy.

Halo 3 had to short of a campaign. Even though MP is an ace. There was a LOT of story missing like, How did the Arbiter get to Earth? How did the Chief escape from the Forerunner ship? (In Marvel's Halo: Uprising which I thought was a waste) There should have been more Earth fights. A outer space Fight. Flood levels on earth, the ark and Halo.

He check out IGN's game of the year & First-Person Shooter of the year.

http://bestof.ign.com/2007/xbox360/24.html

Just goes to show you that the lack of depth in this years Halo 3 is startin to show its true colors. It basically Halo 2 but with better graphics. It's funny to see the amount of players online to begin with over 3 million people plumet to 45,000. I know I myself have referred Call of Duty 4 to at least 10 people that would have bought Halo 3. Sorry bungie but Halo is dead.

Is anybody interested in my Halo 3? I will sell it for free!

S3NATOR has brilliantly taken the next philosophical and theoretical step, and advanced mankind once more. For that, I'm forever grateful.

*lollernadoes*

Since everyone is giving their opinions. I think Halo is still extremely popular and is one of the best and most balanced games out. I've always thought that a "balanced" game is not for the casual gamer but more for the pro gamer. Also the campaign was not short and it had lots of story.
