It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
Since all these threads about recon are irritating, could the Bungie web team change the board so any topic title with the word "recon" or any variation of it (r3c0n), (posts wouldn't work because it could ruin a normal topic), is automatically re-directed to a page that lists the rules about recon ( not allowed, etc...).
Here is what the message might look like.
How do I unlock the EOB/Recon armor?
You can't. It's Bungie only and special members of the community who are chosen. This could only apply to the Halo 3 Forum because that's where it seems to come up the most.
What can I do to get chosen
Nothing. There is no specific guide to getting the guide. But asking for it on the forums is a certain way to make sure you never get it. Also it will result in you getting blacklisted.
About Recon
Your final and only warning!
Recon armor topics and debates have recently become a full blown epidemic. In this such case, any discussion about Recon armor will be met with a 30 day blacklisting. Bungie has decided to use this as a means to either reward exceptional community members or any other way they see fit. Begging for it, selling yourself into slavery, hippo licking™ or posting every "leet" video that you've ever taken will not get you Recon Armor.

Following up on this, asking folks from Bungie or here on the forums if we'll give it to you is a pretty great way of ensuring that you won't. Go about your business, be good folks and be excellent to everyone. And I'd probably advise against behaviors that would augment your EXP in some fashion, as well. We're watching, making lists, checking them twice and doling out treats when appropriate.
Also a link to Here and Here.
Also to ensure it works smoothly, the mods could not annouce it so the new members wouldn't know about it and try to get past the filter. The wording would have to be kept simple for those members.
Suggestion = don't kill me. I know I am contributing to the recon spam, but it might be helpful.
