With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Just a thing to keep people busy until Halo 2 comes out: Look for a mural.

In The Flood, Lt. McKay comes across an underground Forerunner Mural while trying to seal an entryway that Flood could get through. This may just be me, but just the creepy nature of that part of the book tells me that this mural hints at something in-game (although they don't ever describe the mural). There's many places that are still unexplored in Halo, and many places I've seen, but haven't actually been able to get into yet. Perhaps if people redouble their efforts to find hidden and not-so-hidden places no one has ever been to then we might find the ultimate Easter Egg... (aside from the Hippo).

Again, this is probably just me being overly suspicious. But admit it. Finding a Forerunner Mural in Halo would be so damn cool... almost as cool as if I were Church and Blue Command just sent me a tank that I could "blow up the whole damn world" with.

A funny thing about this mural possibility is that, before the book came out (way before it came out), I was looking for one.... without even seeing a reference to a possibility of one, I suspected that it might exist... hmmmmm.

The only downside of "renewed searches" is that people will undoubtedly start reporting things already documented. In advance, I'm advising poeple to just keep their cool when this starts to happen. We don't want anyone's feelings hurt, now do we? <evil laugh>

We've been playing halo for over 2 years now, if there were any murals in it, we would of found them by now.

dude the halo team barely had enough time to finish the game, Either thats because they made some awesome mural that they hide somewhere deep and far away in a level, or its because they where busy trying to make the best game ever. I'm sure if they had time to make a hidden mural they wouldn't have and instead would have made some more original halo levels so that we wouldn't have had to play so much of the game backwards. Thats my opinion.

However in the First Strike book there are some more of these murals that actually move and depict landscapes. I hope they include them into Halo 2 when we find another ring.

Those particular murals were Covenant. Not Forerunner. They were aboard the Uneven Elephant.

yes there were some covie murals there but I'm talking about when they went under ground on Reach and found the crystal that bent time and space. As they descended into the cavern the cave walls came alive. They described the murals to look like a 3D landscape with grass fields and a stary sky and all all of it moved like it was blowing in the wind. These murals were forerunner and I would imagine they would be similar to what was on the halo since it was made by the forerunners as well.
