WTF??!??!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU THINK THAT HALO: COMBAT EVOLVED IS BETTER THEN HALO 3 IN CAMPAIGN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Halo 3 is like HCE campaign only that it is 10X BETTER.
Comparisons...
* The Covenant: Two Scarabs, large, much more. Its Assault on the Control Room.
* Cortana: Like the Library, only that its in Halo 3.
* Tsavo Highway: Like "Halo" only that it is in Halo 3 and has a much bigger force for you. (In HCE all you have is a Warthog with two men maximum)
*Crows Nest: No comparison: Maybe Pillar of Autumn.
*The Storm: Metropolis? Outskirts?
*Sierra-117: No comparison. Maybe Delta Halo?
*Floodgate: 343 Guilty Spark (Plot and some gameplay elements).
The Campaigns are completely different. One thing i've nticed is that Halo CE and Halo 2 use similar level direction:
-Fight way off ship/station
-Crash on planet, find/help survivors
-Rescue Keyes/kill Regret
-Find Flood
-Escape Flood/Fight through Flood
-Find Index
-Stop Halo from being activated
Granted, some levels in Halo 2 are missing, but there are nearly double in Halo 2. Halo 3 is not included because Bungie came up with new level ideas. Which, unlike Halo 2, were not bland and uninteresting.
The thing that I find stands out the most is the amount of exploration you can do in Halo CE. You can go anywhere if you find a vehicle, the areas are huge enough to explore a lot and almost never get bored, and the lack of invisible walls makes a more interesting game(i.e. if you drive far enough into the water on Silent Cartographer, you end up back on the island.....eventually), and you don't die for going somewhere cool, but you do die if you jump off an edge or glitch back into the Pelicans.
Granted, the AI are idiots in Halo CE, but in Halo 2 they aren't much better, and as long as they don't have a rocket launcher or steering wheel in Halo 3, they're brilliant.
Multiplayer: This one's a toughie. Many different opinions. I'm thinking that Halo 2 and Halo 3 greatly depend on team performance, while Halo CE depended on individual contributions, and then teamwork could make a team stellar. Being one of the individuals that could turn the tide, this may be slightly biased. But if you had pretty much any weapon, you could beat someone in a vehicle, or with a rocket launcher. In Halo 3, you don't have much chance on your own, ala lack of any form of damage absorption once shields are gone, since they are basically your health.
