I like all 3 games, but Halo 2 had to be the best of its time because of the glitches and tricks. So many great and fun time had...

(Sadly this is the first time I've seen this thread...)

Anyways, I love Halo:Combat Evolved for the PC. When ever I get tired of Halo 3. (And thats after a few games because everyone hacks and Bungie claims to be doing something about it, haha, sure...)

I loved playing modded matches on Blood Gulch, where everyone is on the mountain sides with tanks, warthogs, rockets, snipers, health packs, and Banshees!

No where am I improving of modding or anything. I frown on those that mod. But when it's used on Blood Gulch, and everyone knows how to use the mod, then no one is hurt in the end.

=D

All the halo games had their advantages yet some had more than others my personal list of the halo games I like in order is

1.halo:awsome campaighn great and simple multiplayer

2.halo2:again awsome campaighn liked halos ending more but awsome none the less the multiplayer over xbox live was amazing and you no longer had to hook up a few xboxs to play big full games plus dual wielding although the plasma pistol became more of a tool than a weapon cool new vehicles, weapons and the bording option not counting the fact that it looked great.

3.halo3:Its campaighn was short and kinda a letdown because they used the same ending from halo kinda expected them to think of something different the multiplayer kinda boring to me because the maps are not all that great and I hate how your suit has the same singed look as chiefs suit I mean did they have enough time to add a little shine like the suit was new?Of course the forge and theater modes are awsome but they do get boring after a while the weopons well there is a lot and some I hate like the brute spiker The laser is great,I dont peticularley like the vehicles that much because they got rid of the spector and replaced it and the brute vehicles are not really that exciting plus the tank now needs a gunner instead of you controling it.

Slay your friends
Slay your enemies
Slay your friends' enemies

It's Halo: Reach

Halo 1 owns Halo 3 because Halo 1 campaign is much more challenging then the campaign for Halo 3. ( i hope Halo 3 Recon will be better by the way :) )

Halo 1 is my favourite game ever. By no means is Halo 3 bad. I think it's amazing. But Halo 1 is a gameing icon.

I feel much more comfy with halo 1 for some reason I wish that I had a standard tv instead of an HD tv so I could play it :(

halo one blows on my balls compared 2 halo 3 . halo 1 sux for multiplayer, halo 1 campaign= amazing halo 3 campaign= ok , halo 1 multiplayer =crap halo 3 multiplayer=sweet , halo 2 multiplayer = AMAZING!

Are you serious. Ranking systems have taken all joy from Halo games. That's why cheating occurs. People only play for a fake ranking on a t.v. screen.

Screw that, get me a 4v4 CTF on Blood Gulch or Sidewinder. That's better than anything Halo 3 can muster.

4 vs 4 CTF on Blood Gulch would be epic. *It's time for a LAN party lol*

I know we're all sick of CoD4 vs. Halo 3 so let's stick to a more overlooked aspect.

Halo 1 is better than Halo 3.

As dumb as it sounds it's true. Halo 3 may have forge and a great multi-player on XBL, but Halo: CE warrants more replay than Halo 3.

Let's take Campaign from H1 and H3 into comparison: Not only is Halo 1 Campaign better, it gives so much room to explore. Every large level in Halo 3 has a rediculous amount of invisible barriers creating a cramped environment on a huge level. The level Covenant is a piss ant put against AoTCR. Especially on Legendary. Playing Covenant is forced and rough around the edges. Control Room is huge and so fun to play. You can grab a tank or a banshee or a warthog or a ghost. You're not forced to a damn Hornet.

Obviously graphics aren't up for comparison. So we'll pass that up.

Music is better in Halo 1 just because it's classic. There's so many ugly remixes of Halo songs in Halo 3 that it makes me puke.

The A.I. in Halo 1 seems to be smarter than the guys in Halo 3. The marines know whats going on and don't drive away with your warthog [ or destroy you while you're in it]. Elite A.I. [and Elites in general] is a more enjoyable adversary than any Brute in Halo 3.

The diagnosis: Halo 3 overdosed on too much new stuff. Too many weapons [however I was very pleased to see the pistol and AR return]. Too many vehicles that have no real use [aside from the chopper]. Sure the jacking system was a cool addition, but Halo 2 already pulled that out.

Obviously online play goes to Halo 3, but multiplayer goes to Halo 1. XBC and LAN battles were plenty more exciting than the Halo 3 XBL. No wonder numbers of gamers on H3 have dwindled online from 500,000 to 50,000. Everyone has gone back to H1 or Cod4. I know I have.

I'm not saying that Halo 3 is a bad game. It's pretty good to be honest. But it is nowhere near Halo 1.

I really do agree ive gotten tired of halo 3s campaign and returned to halo ce. Its much more entertaining. Remember in the lvel two betrayals when you could fly your banshee wicked high into the clouds. He is right there is a million invisible barriers in halo 3. In halo 2 the marines lines sucked. "Such as get up so I can shoot you again".

it seems like every new halo game they take out something and put in something new. and yes i hate that the ending in halo 3 was exactly the same as halo 1.

Halo 3: 9 levels

It wasn't the same; In the first game, you had a time limit, health, and you had to maneuver, not just follow a really easy path. There were ramps, juts, jumps, and the Warthog could actually *gasp* flip! Now, in Legendary and that happened, you were bloody well -blam!-. In Halo 3, just shoot the two Sentinels that are ever there, and off you go with not a scratch on you.

I just wish Bungie would re-make Halo:CE with updated graphics and XBL support. I'd be all for it.

Kindly refrain from Frog-Blasting my Ventcore.

You bring up some good points. My main complaint though, is that the campaign felt so different on Halo 3. It almost felt like it was not-Halo or something.

I feel exactly this way about Halo 2 and Halo 3.

They feel like they were made by a different developer, keeping the same appearance and names, but changing literally everything else completely.

Halo 2 was one of life's biggest disappointments, and that says more about Halo: CE than it does about life or Halo 2. Halo 3 was about what I expected, but it became less interesting as time went on. Neither sequel truly felt like Halo.

1.Arkham Asylum, 2.Mass Effect, 3.Halo CE, 4.Mass Effect 2, 5.Halo 2, 6.Splinter Cell Double Agent, 7.Gears of War 2, 8.Medievil, 9.Oblivion, 10.Crash Team Racing

Now I have to say Halo3 feels like nothing I expected. It seems weaker all the time.

Might be just time speaking, but:
Halo1:
- Solid plot and level progression
- All necessary weapons, vehicles and levels/maps well created
- 16 player maxium, 4 player split screen and 2 player co-op
- The active and diverse AI feels almost like bots
Halo2:
- Diverse story and levels
- Arbiter, Elite, Hunter and Grunt side
- Dogfights, Scorpion run, Brute-Elite civil war and other memorable moments
- The best music
- Weapons and graphics are plasticy but I get to use all weapons a lot
- Stupid snipers, but they're snipers; passive AI and unworthy ally driving.
Halo3:
- Shorter than Halo1 or 2, and plot doesn't offer anything to grab to.
- It's all Halo1, 2 and something new in one without shining anywhere. Tribute after tribute.
- Much of the new and old stuff never or rarely used because of the short game
- New console shows in graphics, not so much in scale of levels or fights
- Passive AI and no multi teaming to mix anything
- Arbiter is so gimmicy multiplayer thing, 80% of time with me, acting unimpressive and invincible. Nothing like the one in Halo2
- No 4 player co-op on one console
- Because levels are small and few, most of the extra items don't get used at all.
- The additionaly apocalypse athmosphere is created only by the stupid AI aircraft fights. Doesn't seem like the final hour.
- Live is amazing, but unbelievably unstable for me.

I have been playing more with Forge than in the game, I have been picking individual levels unlike in previous games, and this is 360 and Halo 3. I have even been thinking about moving back to Xbox1 now once consoles, games and accessories are practically free although hard to find.

I thought that Halo 3 was a very good game. However, Halo: Combat Evolved is my personal favorite. I'm not entirely sure if this is because Halo is actually better than Halo 3, or if nostalgia is clouding my judgement.

Judging from experience, I'd say it is the former reason. Granted, there are better games, but these are still my favourites.
