Now I have to say Halo3 feels like nothing I expected. It seems weaker all the time.
Might be just time speaking, but:
Halo1:
- Solid plot and level progression
- All necessary weapons, vehicles and levels/maps well created
- 16 player maxium, 4 player split screen and 2 player co-op
- The active and diverse AI feels almost like bots
Halo2:
- Diverse story and levels
- Arbiter, Elite, Hunter and Grunt side
- Dogfights, Scorpion run, Brute-Elite civil war and other memorable moments
- The best music
- Weapons and graphics are plasticy but I get to use all weapons a lot
- Stupid snipers, but they're snipers; passive AI and unworthy ally driving.
Halo3:
- Shorter than Halo1 or 2, and plot doesn't offer anything to grab to.
- It's all Halo1, 2 and something new in one without shining anywhere. Tribute after tribute.
- Much of the new and old stuff never or rarely used because of the short game
- New console shows in graphics, not so much in scale of levels or fights
- Passive AI and no multi teaming to mix anything
- Arbiter is so gimmicy multiplayer thing, 80% of time with me, acting unimpressive and invincible. Nothing like the one in Halo2
- No 4 player co-op on one console
- Because levels are small and few, most of the extra items don't get used at all.
- The additionaly apocalypse athmosphere is created only by the stupid AI aircraft fights. Doesn't seem like the final hour.
- Live is amazing, but unbelievably unstable for me.
I have been playing more with Forge than in the game, I have been picking individual levels unlike in previous games, and this is 360 and Halo 3. I have even been thinking about moving back to Xbox1 now once consoles, games and accessories are practically free although hard to find.
