Hey, I just got done reading the opa-ages form about their experience with Halo 2. The form was interesting and gave some new info, but one thing in multiplayer matches seemed to draw my attention. In multiplayer CTF they said and I quote "a big blue Flag icon appears above the bearer’s head that can even be tracked through walls". I have played CTF many times in Halo as many of you have and I was wondering, isn't it strange that the reason of having the flag is to score and get away unnoticed by the other team. And they over at opea-pages said that when an enemy is near the flag, what gives? I mean carring the flag is bad enough but to have a flag symbol over your head that everyone can see including the other team and the other team know your there without using their radar! Come on. I just want to know what ya'll think on this. If Bungie elects to keep it in that is their option not mine and they are free to do what they want. Yet, Bungie hear me out CTF is suppose to involve stealth and distractions. In my opinion having a big flag over your head that the other team can see is just cheap sorry but that's me. I still will play but it doesn't seem right. I want to know what you other gamers have to say about that.

You can turn off motion trackers, radar, NAV points, etc. in options under edit gametypes, you know. However, that might not be an option for that "flag over your head" thing in halo 2. However, if enough people voice their opinions, Bungie might be influenced enough to actually listen to our feedback and make H2 an all around better game.

VOICE YOUR OPINION: WE WANT BOTS, BUNGIE! LISTEN TO ME! PLEASE?

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

For one thing this is an option in Halo, I believe.

For a second thing the defensive team could not return the flag to their base. It would only respawn after not being touched for 30 seconds.

For a third thing when you don't know the maps this helps you negotiate and levels the the playing field and keeps the game intense. It would not be fun if someone learned a way to retrieve the flag stealthy everytime. These guys only had a limited time to play and could not learn everything that fast.

Hey I'm just saying what I heard, I'm hoping for an option to turn it off. In my opinion if you can learn a way to get the flag and return stealthy, consider yourself a good sneaker!

That would make the game of CTF worthless. because the whole point of the game is to distract them and sneak in the back of them.

Its only for single flag games.

think about it if all the members went for the flag at the same time the game would be over like blam

but u didnt tell them that the other team cant return the flag did u?

im pretty sure its in his visor or some quick story like that. The flags have sensors on them that put your life at risk. The spartans wonder why they're risking their lives to play a childish game in the middle of a dangerous super structure made to kill the food of the flood while its infested with a flood of zombies and superior aliens all trying to eliminate YOU

they have this feature in CE, even if you are piloting a vehicle a flag symbol is above your head, i haven't really looked but im not sure if you can turn it off, but i agree that i dont like it that much, i mean it defeats the purpose of one of my strats, use more than one hog to go for a flag run and escape in more than one, this way they dont know which one o go for

REALLY ANNOYING!!!!!! Especially when the other team has the flag as well. It'll be impossible to hide until your team can get their flag back. Hopefully its optional under Nav Points control like Halo 1 Gametype creator.

Here's hoping.

Whoops my hopes have been answered by an earlier post. My bad.

Yeah 11/9's coming!!!!!!!!!

Not that I have any facts to back it up, but Im sure a outfit like Bungie would make it an option, hell, it might not work at all like it does in the E3 MP demo. It could be usefull for some CTF types, but 1 on 1 team games, distracting the defenders and then yoinkin' the flag is a major source of satisfaction. The guys that are making this game know that. But a shade of concern crossed my mind when I read that at Opa Ages too.

Hopefully it's just an option that you can elect to turn on and off.

I'm mixed on my view of it.

If the player is on-screen (but maybe far away) then I don't mind it over their head. In that case, it doesn't necessarily make hunting the flag carrier that much easier...just easier to spot.

However, I wouldn't mind something that when the flag is taken, that you get a message telling you it's gone. So at least if your flag gets ganked you don't get scored on without even having the chance to get it back.

They said right in the article that only the teammates can see these icons above there heads The tattoos that players can put on their armor also appear as icons that hover above their heads. These are only visible to teammates. When a player also has the flag, a flag icon appears next to their tattoo icon. only your teammates can see the flag icon

What? You want EVERYBODY to see that you have the flag and where you are? Or do you not want that??

Its obvious that the new Multiplayer is ahellov a lot more deathmatch style. Watch the videos, it's total chaos and Halo blended in. With or without that flag icon, I just want to play.

Btw, according the the Opa-Ages review, it only appears when the flag is near you.

i just cant wait for the game to come out but yeah that would really suck if the whole flag thing was not optional but i think it is cuase bungie has worked to danm long on this game to put somthing -blam!- like that into cuase remember the alfa- test, they got opions from that too so i think the flag thing is optional
