I installed Halo Pc on my new laptop. It runs vista so i was concened if it would install, and it did and works great exept i cant play multiplayer. It told me need the administrators permission. Well i went to microsofts website and downloaded the update. The update will not run. I get a mesage saying to go to microsofts website and download it. So.. I went to my old computer and brought the patch file and the update over via flash drive and i cant get the patchw32.dll to open. What should i do? Possible reinstall halo or will it not run on Vista? Thanks for your time.

All you really need to do is right click on the Halo icon and run as administator. Halo runs just fine on Vista.

Run Halo as an administrator.

Basicly, it's asking you to go into your adminstrative account and install the things from there. This account has many privleges(sp?) that your current one doesn't. Check all your accounts, see if any of them has these rights.
If none of your accounts has them, here is a guide on how to set your current account to an admin one.

H1 and Halo Custom edition name: madkiller92
xfire:madkiller92

It's simple. My pc lets (what it calls guest) play multiplyer. Right click halo, and click on run as administrator.

OR you can just go ahead and turn off UAC and be done with that whole bunch of crap altogether. Sooo much easier without it asking you for permission all the time : /

But then you kind of kill the whole security of Vista by turning UAC off.
