Clan Draconus Lupus - Kicking ass for over a decade (Hyncharas)

A group of us who provide voiceovers for Halo-machinimas -- Halo Trinity among them -- would like to do a new project based on one of the franchise's novels... but we would also like to talk to the studio directly about access to the franchise's other material, as we have a number of business ideas that may interest them.

Besides by post, is there someone we can contact by email (since the Webmaster-address is not sensitive enough for what we have in mind)?

This probably isn't the best place to ask permission to use franchise material and to discuss business deals. In fact Microsoft owns the rights to the Halo franchise, including the novels, and therefore you would most likely need to contact them. I don't know of any email that would be suitable for your purpose. You could try writing to either company but I doubt anything would come of it. Sorry.

I believe you are correct Recon. Microsoft, to my understanding, actually owns the Halo copyright, but Bungie will continue to make Halo games.

You should contact Microsoft about that, though I doubt you'll get an answer. You could always just make stuff up (you'll still need permission though).

thta's the point we're trying to make, how does anybody get formal permission if they won't take their requests?

Like Recon said, the best course of action to take would be to contact Microsoft Games Studios since Microsoft own the Halo IP.

In the link on Recon's post there's an email address, gamevids@microsoft.com, where you can diret your questions regarding all of the legal stuff.

EDIT: Dang it, you beat me to it!

thanks for the link, a request has just been sent off a few minutes ago...

Of course we are aware they may say no, though it will be interesting to see their response.

No offense -- I'm sure your ideas are great. But I have a great feeling that I know what the answer is going to be when you ask Bungie for "access" to the Halo Bible.

Maybe when Bungie is done with the Halo universe, they will release the Halo bible as a collectors item. That would be sweet to have.

But all of the information the OP needs is in the link that recon provided.
