***FIRST OF ALL I'AM NOT ADVERTISING, THERE IS ALREADY A POST IN THE CLASSIFIEDS.***

I made a group about 1 month ago by the name of "Cassus Belli"; it means a person or group of people that end or justify conflict. Right now I have a total of 4 members and I am disapointed how it is not establishing the community I wanted it to. The members are me and two of my friends and another person who happened to join one day. I have also just recently joined a new clan and am anxious for them to become members, but I don't want my group to only belong to our clan; not at all.

Lately I have been trying my best to tell all of my friends of its existence and ask them to join but it has proven not worth the breath. I have also posted multiple messages in the Classifieds section and that too has been a waste of time.

My question to you all is how can I promote my group and gain some members. I am very devoted to making this group a community where fellow gamers can know each other by more than just the gamertag they read but also as friends. I am asking you gamer, and you 7th column, and you Bungie to help me fiqure out how to promote and advertise my group that I wish so much would grow and become the place that I want it to be.

Thank you to all that reply...

bah

I know how they do it. They PM random people. I know they do because I get it all the time. I usually just tell them it's against the rules without reporting them. Mostly because it doesn't happen often enough to annoy me in the least. If you want members, make your chapter really cool. They will come.

Make your chapter unique. i for example have a motto contest every week where people can vote for a new motto!
Be creative and people will come!

EDIT
I apologize, I forgot the most important thing!
Go join Chapter founders and check out the team ACS thread. There is a link to their homepage and they are happy to let you advertise there. Also, if you are in a big hole and dont know how to get out then tell them and they will come to your chapter and help you out.
-Miles

another question for you more experience guyz. I have written article ready to be posted and I am not sure where to post it, should I start with my group and then steadily post it on the forums or just keep it to my group??

What is it about?

Actually, it may be a good idea to post it to your Articles database and then we can tell you whether it would be good here as well or not.

A lot of... people have a link in their signature that people click on, and it automatically adds them to their group. Naturally, half the fools never look at the chapter, or know how to leave, so the chapters end up with 200+ inactive members.

My Settings --> Personalize --> Signature Box. Make appropriate changes there.

People with good reputations get many members. if youpost good things in the forums, and attach a signature that not only has a link in it, but is witty and clever enough for people to want to click it. Then people will visit your chapter, then, when they are visiting, you have to make sure there is something there that will catch their attention, be unique, make a good first impression and makethem want to join. Then when they have joined you have to constantly motivate them. its hard being a founder. ive founded five chapters in my time, one of which had 80+ members, and i think that with my current one i finally have a winning forumula.
