Give a man fire, he'll be warm for a day. Light a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

I went to a new high school a while ago, and it was quite a shock. I went from a school where I knew all 300 students into a new one where i didn't know a single person out of the 3,000. Not only did I keep in touch with my old friends via halo 2(and now 3) but also made alotta new friends at school. Believe it or not, there were actually 3 people I met in person at school and never knew they had live til I actually was put in a game with them(not all in the same game) and they recognized my gamertag! All three times it happened my jaw just dropped, and I guess it always will if it ever happens again. Ontop of that, I do not run a small country, but created a Halo 3 club at school where all we do is once a week, stay after school in the media lounge and adjacent classrooms, and just chill and play halo 3 using projectors and 94" SMARTBoards (and surround sound. 7.1 in the media lounge, 5.1 in the classrooms). Many a times we have had people draw Mr. Chief-looking faces on MC. If I can get a hold of one of those pictures I will edit this post with a link to it.

F Major Seventh Chord

Hahaaa well generally, the only reason why this particular female enters my house is to watch me play Halo 3, and I'm really not one to have many females come over to my house, so...

That aside, I also have some friends from crazy cool places like Australia and the Netherlands through Halo Custom Edition (we film slipshod machinimas together).

My Halo 2/Halo 3 character guy thing/Spartan is pink. Well, some person I'm assuming is in the range of 11-13 or balls-haven't-dropped-yet was asking whether I was -blam!-. Well, in all honesty, I'm used to comments like that (I actually have no idea why I use pink...) and hostility because of it, so to my surprise, this guy in the game started saying how as long as I accept myself and the like, it's alright, and he went on for a couple minutes like this. tis a reminder to everyone that the Halo community is still bad-ass, even with the occasional bigot. I should have added that guy as a friend...

I believe we won that game (team slayer), and he got the highest number of kills and the lil kid got the lowest or somewhere close, for added irony. rofl.

And of course, half of my friends are at least partially related to Halo. Like everyone here.

Also, my Halo obsession = eccentricity, which = me on homecoming court at my school as the ultimate joke candidate. lmfao. I'm not above making fun of myself.

TO THE NEIGHBOR'S!!!

Halo has been a social staple of mine since the first game. My roommates bonded and bullied over multiplayer, not to mention the hours spent together tearing through Legendary. We played Halo non-stop until Halo 2's release and we all unfolded the story together and put our backs together for online matchmaking vowing vengence on those who dare teabag our fallen squad members. A certain girl came into my life in the mist of H2 and though she had no interest in gaming, never complained while I maintained my post with my roommates. This same girl stayed with me through late nights, and became the one who gave me my xbox 360 ensuring my readiness for Halo 3's release. Needless to add, I married her and since Dec 10 2007, I lull our newborn daughter to sleep between bouts of gunfire and Marty's music at the H3 menu screen.

Love is in the air indeed, mixed with lead.

I meet my boyfriend through gaming, and the games that we have played the most together are the Halo games. There's something special knowing that there's someone who will support you always. He introduced me to the game, and after playing some co-op we started some matchmaking in Halo 2 and I was quickly hooked.
Today Halo 1, 2 AND 3 are my favorite games games by far, and I play with the PMS clan daily in our Halo 3 division.
I thank him for pushing me into playing more shooter games when I was scared too, and for always being supportive.

very similar situation happened with me a few years ago when i switched schools. small school-huge school halo 2 helped make some friends and gave me stuff to do before school started and i had none.

i am a college student now. and just a few weeks ago we were all doin what college students do best and drank ourselves stupid. well anyway i was completley trashed and walkin' around then i noticed down in my hallway there was some LAN halo3 goin on. so i go join it up and start pwning, even though my eyes had trouble looking in the same direction i was still racking up the kills. well the RA's started doing their rounds and what happened was everysingle person i was drinking with (bout 15) got caught with them drinks. they all got underages. I however did not get an underage as there was an off duty RA on my team for some slayer(we were doing awesome btw). i credit halo3 and that RA with keeping my record clean.

My friends list mainly consists of people I know in real life, so I guess I've strengthened my relationships, and kinda formed them.

Halo has changed my life.

Halo 2 was released half-way through my Freshman year of college. My friends and I loved to play, and my dorm room became the central gathering point for over a dozen friends. We'd spend late nights playing Assault, Capture the Flag, and Slayer. We'd stay up late, print out our achievements from the post-game reports on bungie.net, obsessively watch Red vs. Blue, and tape our Halo symbols to our dorm room doors.

One of my best friends that I met in college quickly expressed interest in the game. I bought her the Halo 2 strategy guide and taught her everything I could about how to play Halo well. She became a valuable teammate and our main sniper. One day in December of 2004, she beat me in an online Rumble Pit game. Then in March of 2005, she beat me in a one-on-one match.

The next year, she and I teamed up in our school's Halo double-team tournament. Even though we had a few close games, we came out on top. Other people watched us as we played and were amazed at how well we worked together. She'd toss me the sword, I'd toss her the sniper rifle, and we barely had to say a word. We'd played together so often that we could anticipate each other's moves.

My Gamertag registered over 5500 games of Halo 2. Most of those were with my girlfriend Goosechecka at my side.

Now she and I are dating and play Halo 3 every night. We each bought our own Legendary copy of Halo 3 so we could each have our own Master Chief helmet. We have posters of Master Chief and the Arbiter all around our game room. The first thing we did when we got Halo 3 at Midnight was stay up to play the campaign together.

Halo brought us together, no doubt. If it weren't for Halo, we probably wouldn't be dating.

Here's to many more happy years of pwning noobs.

poopz

I moved into an apartment with my future wife in 2002. I bought an Xbox and started playing Halo. She watched the game, and got hooked (I actually got in trouble for playing 343GS for the first time while she was out!) Soon after that first time, we started out co-op careers. We played through Halo 1 co-op at least 30 times. We know every line by heart. We launched warthogs and found eggs. We've played the newer games, of course, and we're still bigger Halo fans than ever... but those early days playing co-op at out first apartment will never be topped or forgotten.

I haven't met anyone significant through Halo, but Halo 2 was a bonding experience for my boyfriend and I. I was never into FPS style games before this, and I was terrible (still am), but I always enjoyed our time playing it. We play Halo 3 together once in a while, and now I'm addicted.=)

I've been a fan of the Halo series for years, and I owe endless hours of fun to the fantastic entertainment your team has created. Thank you.

I have loved halo ever since the first time I played it, although that was kind if a -blam!- experience because of the people there, but we wont get into that. Up until that point all I'd ever had was Nintendo junk food. I was exhilarated by the stunning graphical beauty and strange new controls. Skip foreword a year or so, and Halo 2 has been released. I finally have an Xbox but, my modem isn't compatible with live. Luckily, my friend Robbie (who I met through GTA San Andreas, but later our friendship revolved around H2) knew of a game center that was moving from his old hometown to our town. The Launch Pad Game Center is born, and enter the best two years of my life. We would spend most days after school playing, drinking Bawls and having a great time. We would all get together for all-nighters, starting around 5-6 and going until 8AM. Best fragfests around, system linking carnage, and plenty of bawls and pizza to go around. Cant forget the YooHoos, either, damn those were so much sweeter when enjoyed with a game of halo. All night the trash talk flowed like liquid anger. It was great. Unfortunately, the center went out of business, and while there is a new center, its just not the same. But, I am planning my own halo party this saturday, the halo spirit is still strong here. Actually, anybody planning on being in Moab, Utah on saturday is welcome to show up. PM me for directions.

I've met people I consider like Family through Halo 2. That baton has now passed to Halo 3.

Unfortunately, my enjoyment of Halo 3 has been GREATLY REDUCED because of one bug. I like to play as an Elite, they're my favourite Aliens from Halo. So when I unlocked all their armour permutations, I was BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED to find the COMMANDO SHOULDERS were STILL LOCKED!

BUNGIE PLEASE FIX THIS!!! <3

I work with teenagers as a mentor and coach. Being 47 years old doesn't help build trust or telegraph to them that I have any chance at all of relating to them in any way. However, when they find out that I'm a Halo player and in many cases am able to frag their assess at will, I immediately gain a level of credibility that would take months to achieve without those skills. It's cool when a video game is able to bridge the gap between generations.

Exuberance!

My one friend, who I still know to this day, started hosting lan parties. However, he didn't have them very often. My mom actually approached me and asked if I wanted to have one. Of course, I said sure. I was able to get 12 xboxs, 12 tvs, and 12 people. It was so perfect. We had so much fun and enjoyed it so much that I begged my mom to let me have them more often...so I do have them more often. It has gotten to the point where too many people come and some people end up sitting out and waiting until the next game. I can almost guarantee that there will be two games going on at once in the near future. It has also gotten to the point where I tell one of my friends to come on a certain date, and then he comes up to me with 2 other random people and they are asking if they can come...

I actually hate one thing about having them all...I have to clean up afterwards...

  • 01.03.2008 5:30 PM PDT

Feel free to send me friend requests!

now that I have a 360, I bought another copy of Halo:CE so I could have LAN parties in the house

we had 8 family members fragging each other this Christmas

my brother once brought his girlfriend to a 16-person Halo:CE fest. She wasn't very good.

My neighbors and I also play a lot - my friend down the street is "Earths Defense" so we play a lot of doubles.
