Man, I believe it like it was yesterday. Actually, I remember the exact date that I met my girlfriend of two years on Halo 2. September 20th, 2005. She was friends with some of my friends in town, and I joined the party. Her GT was the G1rl, so I asked if she was really a girl. She said yes, and the next thing I said was, "Can I have your number?" I meant it to be a joke, and she took it as one too. So I guess I was just messing around asking her periodically for about an hour and a half, until I was about to get off. I asked her one last time and she sent me a message. 8675309. I saw it and laughed because of the humor. That was a number from a song in the 80's I believe. She laughed and as I said goodbye and left the party, I got another message with her real number. At 9:07 P.M. Central time, 10:07 her Pacific Time, I called her and talked to her for about five minutes. Over the next month or so, we had talked every night for at least three hours, until she fell asleep on the phone. It was on October 25th of the same year, that I told her that I could no longer think of her as just a friend. She said ok and we have been a couple for the past two years and two months. We are both Freshmen in college, and I will be attending her college This coming Fall Semester. I can honestly say that meeting her as been the best experience of my life, and I owe it all to Bungie for making this great and fun game. I actually just came back today from seeing her for a week, staying in her house. Her family just loves me and they are freaking awesome to hang out with. That was the fourth time I have seen her, and it will definitely not be the last. Again, thank you Bungie and keep making miracles happen.

Game dev in training.
Ready to deploy approximately Q1 2012.

It seems it was some fateful morning at school, and (being an obnoxious senior) I was making my usual rounds of: "Hey guys, XX many days until Halo 3 comes out!"

I was walking with a good friend of mine down a hallway, when I decided it was the opportune moment to make a Halo 3 countdown observation. A nearby person of the female persuasion overhead me (whom I knew of, but not very well), and they replied with the statement: "I know! I'm so excited!"

Needless to say, I was rather shocked at this revelation, and a brief conversation with said individual soon followed.

The proceeding days allowed us to converse more frequently, and we soon became friends. Things simply advanced from there.

To this day, we have been dating for a little under 3 months, and I'm not sure if either of us have ever been happier.

However, we live a considerable distance away from each other, so Halo 3 online co-op is a great way for us to spend time with each other.

Bungie, I salute you.

I know it sounds crazy, but I just had to respond to this posty post. I met all of my friends in person, (You know, the normal day to day activities that people go through, in public, where you can actually interact with a face and not a screen name with a 15 year-old kid behind it talking garbage because "him so big and BAD online"). I have met all the women I've dated face-to-face too, because there really isnt any other way. I want to "hang out" with someone without playing a video game with them. Party with them, do things with them, in a face-to-face sort of way. NO KNOCKING YOU WOMEN GAMERS, because thats awesome. And to all you folks who've met these "friends and sig. others," its whatever. I'm writing this to the gamers with 2500 exp. already. To those people who seem to survive to play this game. God did not create Halo to make America fatter and more pathetic. Ladies and gents, put down the sticks every once and awhile and get out and live. The Halo label is what, seven years old? Friends are the people who were there before, and after this game. Let's face it, how many of your Halo friends would take a bullet for you? Seriously? All of mine would, because i hold an actual relationship with them OUTSIDE of this game. Alright, I've got to get back to the Orange Bowl. Go JAYHAWKS!! Rock on everyone!

The Doom Bringer

well one of my close friends moved away from here (Florida) and moved to Washington state, anyway I was playing mm on Halo 2 one day and someone on the other team said he knew who I was and come to find out it was him! what are the chances? lol

My girlfriend says she loves me even more since I got her into the Halo series too lol.

I've got one or two guys on my friends list that I've been playing online with since the early days of Halo 2 as well.

The topic: Why do people flame?
The Ninja Strikes Back!!!
The question: Why is the halo 3 forum more retarded than the flood?
Posted by: supercommiefu
Because in the Flood, people pretend to be stupid for laughs. People in this forum aren't pretending.

I don't have a romantic story, but I did convince my friends to buy Xbox live accounts. Everyonce and a while I have them come over to play on live (My house is the only one with internet. lol!!) Anyways, It is always fun to play with people from real life that you know and that you have an actual friendship with. (Although I do have many xbox live friends, my real life ones are just more....I don't know? More real?) THANKS SO MUCH BUNGIE!!!

the best group of players with skill alone, cannot defeat a team of mediocre players. 9 times out of 10.

my brother and I are both LDS (mormon) and in halo 2 we made a clan called the army of helaman (a refrence to a mormon story) and everyone who we met online who was also mormon joined our clan...the end.

I had to reply to this (because hey, I'm the other half to Pyromancer!) Well, I remember that day too when we had our chat about Halo 3...

I barely knew him and I was talking to a friend when I hear "Hey guys, XX many days until Halo 3 comes out!" I just HAD to to turn around and reply " I know! I'm so excited!" He gave me this look like your a girl and you like Halo 3?!

After that, we began to talk more about the game and of course talk online ON the game. We were just friends who gamed together and talked about Halo 3 nonstop. After awhile, I realized that hey, this guy is a guy who seems to always make me smile when we pwn newbs, laugh as one of us gets stuck or even be okay with me beating him in legendary first. He makes me have a WHOLE lot more fun when we game together. And so, we started going out after all this self realization.

2 months and 18 days later, He makes my world seem a whole lot brighter as we co-op on legendary and search for skulls. Now whenever anyone asks us how we got together, we smile and say...
"Halo 3"

I met one of my very best friends in school while waiting for the release of halo2, we were at each others houses playing halo CE every week until h2 came out, then we played that all the time, he only lived down the road but it's bungie that brought us together. We're very good friends now who still hang out. Thank you bungie!

Out of the times that I could of, in other people's words, been doing better things, I have played a lot, a lot of Halo. I've made a few bucks at local tourneys but nothing that you could really call it a living at all. Now that H3 has rolled around I haven't had as much of a chance to play as I would like, but a lot of my friends I know because of our gaming connections.

This guy, honestly has had one of the most awesome and all around coolest girlfriend now. I'm completely jealous ;p. But yea, I know how much 'pyromancer' and "girl gamer love" both really care for each other, even if they are a little too shy to outright say it. (and you BOTH know what I am talking about...) If there are other people in the world who get their chance at what (well, what seems to be perfect ;p) like these two have, then bungie, i unofficially declare you masters of the Gamer's Universe.

I lost my job back in 2005 for owning my boss and his managers. My truck had "Master Chief" in bright silver letters across the back so they knew I played. I was 30 years old, and these guys were around my age, so at first it was cool. I wasn't bale to get together with them for a few weeks as my Wife and I were settling in from a long move. During this time they talked so much trash about being the best and crap. But they let it out they had never played HALO 2 online. I laughed. So finally I played and I am really not that great of a player, but it seemed like these guys were in slo-mo. I felt bad after the first few games so I let up and played bad so they could get some enjoyment out of it.

The following week they made jokes about me getting progressively worse and I started to just ignore them. After a month of not playing with them and continuing more HALO 2 online, they made the comment that I was too chicken to play again. So I finally said, fine lets play, and I won't go easy on you any more.

The jokes just kept coming until that Friday night. I scored my first Kilimanjaro ever and just worked them over. I was let go the very next week due to "cut backs". I was pissed at the time, but now I am thankful for their noobness as I am in a job I truly love. But still, I told them they should play online, it will make them better.

I haven't heard from any of them since.

I met my boyfriend here on bungie.net :)

Basically i was bored on halloween last year; so i made an account here on b.net because i thought it looked like fun to interact with some of the people on here (My bro has a account and thats how i know about this site). Anyways; i made my account and started to reply to a bunch of random threads. One thread was about rating the hottness of the individuals on this website. I posted something like "I think i'm ok; what do you guys think?". Then the member known as "g3ud0" replied with something like this "0.0 10/10". rather then repliying on the thread i sent him a PM that said "thanks ;)" he Pm'd me back...and soon we became good friends. We exchanged gamertags and would play xbl together, and we talked almost everyday over Pm's on b.net and yahoo msgr.

Soon we traded cell phone numbers and started txting eachother. It wasnt too much longer that i realized i was falling for him 0.0 and i'm pretty sure he was too because he would always give me hints that he liked me.

Xmas day was the day we confessed our love for eachother...we were a scared our parents would get mad if they found out; so we kept it a secret from them, and we had some crazy plan that we were going to wait till we graduated highschool before we actually met. A few months when by; we managed to never miss a day of talking. My boyfriend then msgd me saying his parents found out...and they were not mad 0.0 . This kinda encouraged me to tell my parents; but i was a little freaked out. But a couple days past and i finally got the courage to tell my mom. My mom and i went to the gym; and thats when i told her...she didnt get mad 0.0 but the real test would be what my dad would think :( . My mom told my dad...and he didnt get mad either :D in fact; he thought it would be a good idea to meet g3ud0 over the summer. With excitment taking over i didnt waste a second to msg g3ud0 that we should meet over the summer. I msgd him; and he replied very quickly out of excitment.

It was around march at the time; and we decided to meet on july 12th 2007. The months went by really fast; and mine and g3ud0's exciment grew and grew as the time came closer to us meeting. July 12th finally came; and g3ud0 stayed for the weekend. We had the time of our lives and those are days i will never forget ♥.

When g3ud0 had to leave to go back to Montana...myself and g3ud0 became depressed for the next several days. We planned again for us to meet over christmas break. Only this time i would go to Montana (I live in Arizona btw) . I came up on December 26th 2007; and i'm still here in Montana with g3ud0 having the best time of my life. Over this past week I got to go snowboarding for the first time; play in the snow; do cookies in g3ud0's car (It's when you pick up speed in an icy parking lot, and pull the e-brake to spin the car in circles). g3ud0 and i got to do so much together...and i have to leave tomarrow :( (January 4th)...i dont want to leave...i want to stay with g3ud0. I'm having such a hard time dealing with the fact i have to go back home tomarrow...and g3ud0 is becoming very depressed.

But he's coming up to visit me in Arizona over spring break of 2008. :D

g3ud0 and i got eachother promise rings to show eachother how serious we really are. I love g3ud0 with all my heart and he loves me with all his heart. We plan on getting married after he graduates college in 2.5 years. I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him.

I thank bungie.net for exsisting...if it wasnt for this very website; we would have never met and who knows how our lives would be.

Again. Thank you Bungie.net

Frankie: This will be kinda long, but it is worth reading. I am one of the "older" Halo players at 29, and have been playing for about 5 years now. My younger brother, Alex, turned me on to Halo, and I became hooked. It was a great way for us to bond, as he is 13 years younger than me. We played for hours every weekend and had a great time. About two years ago, my parents retired and moved to Athens, Greece, taking my younger brother and sister with them. All of a sudden, my "Halo Buddy" was gone.
My wife, Nicole, who barely tolerated my Halo habit, was glad that I no longer spent late nights playing Halo. After a while, though, she noticed that I was pretty depressed about my brother moving away. She realized that it wasn't so much about Halo, but about spending time with him. She broke down and offered to become my new "Halo Buddy." "How hard can the game be, right?" she told me. Well, the first several weeks were a fiasco. I let her use one of my accounts, xx Iron Duke xx, to learn the game, and she spent more time shooting the sky than anybody else. She became frustrated at the game, she became frustrated at me, she cursed Bungie, but she did not quit. On several occasions, I woke up in the morning to find my wife playing Halo by herself, vowing to get good enough to hang with everyone else. Within three months, Nicole had become a devout Halo player, logging hours of online time on her own console, with her own big screen, right next to mine. She had become my new, and best, "Halo Buddy", and a very competitive one at that!
About a year ago, my brother was able to get broadband service in Athens, and came back online. Now, the three of us regularly play together. Look for SorakNehpets, XX Iron Duke XX, and PinkShamallama online- That's me, Nicole, and Alex having a great time. After over 5000 matches logged on Halo 2, Nicole is now "hanging with the guys" in Halo 3. She is fragging, sniping, and pwning noobs like the best of them. All of my guy friends are amazed that my wife plays Halo with me. Needless to say, they are all pretty jealous!
But the story gets even better: 4 weeks ago, Nicole gave birth to our first child, Henry. Our friends gave us a couple of special outfits for him. One little shirt says, "Mommy's Little Spartan" and the other says "I think I stickied my diaper", complete with a sticky grenade embroidered on the rear! Now, when Nicole and I play, our little spartan is probably asleep on the couch between us. He'll be playing in no time...
So, did I meet my true love playing Halo? No--but my true love plays Halo with me, and we have a stronger bond because of it. Frankie, for being willing to do whatever it takes to make her husband smile, I think Nicole deserves a little Halo reward. Any ideas?? Maybe recon armor?? Thanks for your time.
Happy New Year,
Stephen Karos

When I was a college student, I shared an apartment with three other friends. One of them happened to be a Halo 2 fanatic just like I was, so we often played on Xbox Live. During a regular Rumble Training game, I must have said something funny, because it got me a friend request from a witty woman. I later introduced her to my roommate in some custom games and they quickly became friends as well. They seemed like a good couple with similar personalities. A few months later after becoming well acquainted, they planned to meet up... so he flew halfway across the country to see her. They later planned to have her move in for the rest of the semester, which happened quicker than he led me to believe, because she walked in the door right as I was in the middle of dominating blue team (blue team sucks BTW). Summertime came, they got their own apartment, then I got the news that they were engaged. They are now expecting their first child to be born within the next week.

It's crazy how this whole event was unraveled just because I decided to accept a friend request.

LOADING. . .

i met a rock while playing halo 1 on playstation live and talking to fishis with my computer portable. and i own iraq right now and i thinki see an american so i will be back after i kill him and play with his dead body. not realy, but i do own iraq, in call of duty 4. oh and i met my bestest freind opticmovie who is a person with arms. i have a girlfreind but not from halo, im working on converting her from a cristian to a haloian and next week is her lesson on how the hunters are not actualy one alien and thats why you never see them with any girl aliens. i like peanutbutter and i found this out by living off of 27925 cans of it while playing halo 2. my gamertag is not billy123454321 and i do not live in canadia or ethiopia. i didnt kill kenny so im not a bastard and i like peanutbutter and my favorite character is the gecko off of the geiko comercials. i like peanutbutter andif i couldpick one place to play halo it would be pizza hut. and im running out of things to type, what is this thread about again? oh ya amazing real life situations using the massive multiplayer online game kameo elements of power. im bored. are you? did you read this whole thing so far? if you did your bored. like me. what should i do besides spam? get some haxorz for games? eat pizza at burgerking? walk through the drive through? fart in little childrens faces? am i gettin blacklisted for this because if you read this far to this page then you are looking for someone to ban. only , wait i cant put how many characters are left because if i type they go down and therefore i cant put down how many i have left, but i hope to put up all the characters so that no one will read this whole thing, im glad i type moderatly fast arent you because this would take along time to do otherwise. i took a typing class in middle school but i still only ues my first four fingers to type. do you like opra? i dont. shes racist like timmy. timmy is a r tard. he is kool though. he killed kenny hes the bastard .down to 7980 chars left, well not now or now or now or now. i hate this. it should let you be able to put how many you have left. i dont play halo 3 as much because glitches are like gone now and thats what i did in halo 2 but odly enuf(spelled wrong) i am a forty in halo 3 but a 22 in halo 2. i dont know if i got better or stayed the same and other people got worse. wow, it will take to long to use up all of the text because it took me like 10 minutes to type this because i accidently put on caps lock and still typed and it took a while to relise and i had to delete it and start ove so its taken like twice as long, and thats how halo has affected me. and in other news iraqs leader has bean assasinated at his computera few seconds ago, wtf? thats me? oh, i guess im not the leader then. ok, that sucks call of duty balls. im bored again. oh i saw a video of a man jump off something like ten feet high and he straightend his legs out and when he landed his legs didnt even bend and he was perfectly fine. after this i bet my typing speed will go up alot.yay! 6000 left! i might have to copy paste if i keep going at this rate . i dont know how but the first 2000 seamed to go faster.its goin really slow now and if you have read this far you know im really bored and i want to be on the front page, i know this wont do it but wouldnt it be awsome to be on the front page. like when i beat halo 3 i watched the credits and it felt so good when at the end i mentioned all of us here at bungie.net, well the ones who were here during halo 2 like my othe account here blast73 wich i havent used for awhile so it might have gone away. but after halo 3 came out like a million people joined this site. i cant wait till the next game is released from here, i hopeit will stay with the first personness of halo and stay somewhere with marathon and halo. you know fill in what happened or something. but i would be kool with a non halo thing wich i kind of want 50/50 between staying with halo and marathon or just going completly diferent like call of duty 4 from the other 3. well ive made it to 5800 and i think its comeint to a rap. not like sining but like ending.i really want 5000 exactly but that would take to long unless i come up with a thing to talk about. maybe i will make myown website and then i can talk like this every day or week about ne games or old games andpeople can talk back, like a little group that meets up at certain times to do things and i only have 500 left to go now! like the o in now is exactly 500 left so i think i can make it. i will put an exclamation mark exactly at 5000 so you know when it is and i will tell you that the exclamation mark is the end, like !=the end ok? ok. i like peanutbutter. im almost there only 200 more to go, i think you yes you and you only should try this as well, yes you looking at my writingd right now, now go and finish reading this and go and press reply and type a 5000 work article and post it here. almost finished 3 2 1 !

Well it's not love, cause i meet a guy, and I'm not fruity. But anyways I was playing Halo three on my new xbox 360 and I got a friend request from Brutecheftain. Now I did what I aways do when I get a random friend request from a random person, I accept it! Now I left him on my friends list, didn't do much with him. But then one day at school one of my friends had been at his house and told me that Brutecheftain went to my school and that I might know him! I was skeptical at first but when introduced to him I recognized him from a party I went to a while ago! So now I play in matchmaking and custom games with him a lot! Plus I meet someone new at my new school. I learned that in the middle of all of the high pitched voices screaming to the normal voices swearing, there's people I know playing this awesome game!
