While playing Halo, I met many friends, pwned noobs in a small country which I am a Governor of the country, and I also realized what I want to do as a main career. Video Game and Computer Design.

When applying to medical school, i realized i'd spent most of my free time playing halo 2...not doing the traditional extra-cirriculars. well, i'd won several local tournaments so i figured why not, i'll put it on my application.

my interviewers must have been gamers. i got into med school.

I moved from Canada to Mexico a while ago and pretty much lost most contact with my friends. I still stay in touch with my two best friends because they have Halo 3.

In fact, I played through Legendary with a friend over the past days and got me this cool EOD helmet. It's amazing how a simple game can keep friends in constant touch when they're both at least 3000 kilometers away from each other.

Oh, and my cousins and I always play Halo 2 or Halo 3 together, depending where we're at. :D

My boyfriend brought me to Halo and we play nonstop. He says I will never get to surpass him but I got a Running Riot in a week of gameplay :D He tells me he wants to train me, but I had to tell him that sometimes the best way to learn is on your own >.> not going lvl 1 against a few lvl 33's on your first day >.> LOL I do let him play with me in campaign to get those skulls =)

SPARTAN-367 (PAT)

Not much as in the Halo game but more as the Chief's Character... Thanks to his character, I look up to him and am doing better in my sport.

Thumbs up Bungie for making a great character...

I bought Halo3 when it first came out, I have never played it online and I must say it has been the best experience. I got my buddies involved, and literally bought a console and game for one of them just so he could get on with us. We play every night of the week, I swear i thought I would never get addicted...yet here I am playing all the time like I need a fix or something. Sheesh! I noticed that most of you all have girlfriends and have possibly met someone...what about guys like me who have been married for 14 years and have 2 kids? I have nearly caused a divorce with this game. I have tried to explain the game to her and how fun it is to beat some poor soul down, or lasering a Warthog with 3 sorry suckers in it, yet when I start I get this blank stare, like I am talkin greek or something. Does anyone out there know what I am talkin about? I am having a blast playing and have met some amazing characters out there, I dont want to give it up, but I need some assistance on how I can get her to see how much I enjoy playing. Any advice? THe Halo Community is truly the best people out there!

Half of 8 is 3!

I did not find my true love playing Halo, but I did help my true love to find Halo. I have been playing all of the Halo games and started with Halo CE in 2002 it was love at first sight zoom. I have recruited many friends and relatives to the Halo universe over the years, but the one recruitment I am most proud of is my fiancée Valerie. We met for the first time in fall of 2003 during a high school football game. I was a senior and she was a freshman. She was hanging out with a group of friends which included one of my good buddies, who happened to be another person I recruited to Halo and played with often. We talked for a little bit but at the time there weren’t any sparks and we parted ways that night. When the school year ended I was riding around with some friends going to graduation parties and we happened upon a party for this girl who I knew pretty well. Little did I know, this girl just so happened to be the older sister of Valerie. My friends and I ended up hanging out for the rest of the night at their house. This time there were sparks worthy of a 4th of July extravaganza. We ended up spending almost every day together that summer and when the summer came to a close the fun didn’t end. I attended a local community college the following fall, which allowed us to still maintain a happy relationship while she started her sophomore year in high school. During the time that we dated I would spend many hours with friends participating in Halo CE & Halo 2 games via LAN parties or Xbox live. My fiancée thought I was a nerdy little kid for spending as much time as I did playing video games. She never tried to persuade me to give them up, but she just never seemed interested in giving them a try. When she graduated from high school we decided to move in together. At this point we had been dating for about 3 years and were in the deepest type of love. She proved her love for me time and time again with gifts like an Xbox 360 for Valentines Day 2007 and Halo 3 Legendary edition on September 25th 2007. She also bought me other gifts like 12-month live subscriptions and wireless headset. She is by far the greatest girl ever. Even though she had bought me all of that great stuff she had still never played any Halo game. Shortly after Halo 3 was released I decided I was going to get her to at least try Halo 3. It ended up taking me about a month and a half before I convinced her to give it a try but try she did. It was at that point that her eyes lit up like the Rockefeller Christmas tree and she finally realized how great the game is and how I could have spent so many nights and hours playing it. Over the next month she had logged a respectable amount of hours and even gained some impressive skills. She has joined the Xbox live community and has spent every minute of it playing Halo 3. Every night we are at home I hear her ask, “Can we play Halo now?” and any time we are away from our house she will say “I can’t wait to get home and play Halo.” During Thanksgiving this year I asked for her hand in marriage and she said yes. It was at that moment that I knew I had not only gained a fiancée, and soon to be wife, but also my newest and most permanent Halo teammate. So I am proud to say that even though I did not find my true love playing Halo, I was able to help my true love find Halo.

I made a friend back in the day of Halo 2. Not a real life friend, just an online gamer friend who lives in a different country. I never realized how much I really cared about someone I never met before until he was put in the hospitol. Has been there for a good 4 months, and probably will be there for another full year.

"I never realized how much I really cared about someone I never met " I don't mean that in any kind of homo-blam!- kind of way. Just had to say that, cause... well, you know how people can be here on the bungie forum.

"Just because you are a character, doesn't mean you have character."

I met 4 friends that I have been really close to for over the past 4 years. Funny thing is all of them live only 30 minutes away from me.

So i actually do have a story. I met my girlfriend last year in a very halo related way. I'm part of a caving club for my college and twice a year we go camping near a group of caves. Well last fall I was still new to this club, and quite frankly I had up until then been a relatively shy guy. so after a full day crawling two caves, we came back to a bonfire, and what was soon becoming a hippie/ college party. Well a few a few drinks and a skinnydip later i was having a time of my life. As I reapproched the fire I soon found two people who refused to join in in the dip. As I got closer I found that one of them was telling stories of halo 2 escapades with her brother and dad, and how much she love to play. Well needless to say in my current state I found it nessisary to elighten the two girls into how "amazing" I thought I was. I promised her we will play together when we return to college and I immediately offered to run (or is that stumble?) up to the shed to find her a drink, and from then on out we have been dating and playing halo as much as we can. Until then I didnt think it was possible to find an attractive girl who liked video games (shouldn't that be some sort of paradox?) But I did and I've never been happier.

I met my girl on Lockout on Halo 2. We started talking and it turned out she lives 15 minutes away from me and went to my middle school.
Were still in love to this day.

This has to be the best thread I have ever seen on these forums.

I've met a cool group of people (some have gone on into the real world now) through a Halo LAN that is usually held every other week. I came across the group after finding Bungie's plan for world domination on the back of the H1 manual. We still LAN to this day, though not as frequently as before, sorry but it seems they've gotten hooked on the COD4 smack, me thinks I'm the only one playing H3 online right now. Our group is http://www.bungie.net/fanclub/rhoh/Group/GroupHome.aspx Come on by if you're in the area!

Also I agree with eerhtxisenin's post, ever since the days of H2 online (part of the reason I was put off by H2 amongst other things). Just yesterday a teeny bopper told me I should go kill myself! FTW!! I really wish there was a way to enforce the ratings of the game online, I guess it's just a lack of parental skills out there.

I got my dream job (well for now) at Gamestop when I walked in one day and bought a new copy of the Legendary Edition of Halo 3!
Thanks Bungie!

I live in Eastern New Jersey and me and my local friends met a group of fellow teens from Philidelphia Pennsylvania. This summer when most of us have our licenses, we are travelling there to meet them...

it should be interesting :)

As I lie, staring into the darkened walls. They slowly grow dim as the clock strikes the windows close the lights fade out and the air grows cold. Nothing but darkness surrounds the only light to be seen the soul the heart emitting a radiance stronger then a thousand suns. Be gone darkness. Never return. As the gates of the mind fall and the darkness seeps inward. That light never grows dim.

The first time i got laid was when i let my GF beat me in Halo CE.

Typical Halo nerd. Move along.

My best friend and his sister are playing Halo 3. We all hang out and play Halo 3 all day long. So far, I own a LARGE country, where we worship God wearing RECON armor. Jesus is a flaming Ninja giving candy to small children. We all laugh and play all day.

Oh, I have a second one.
I had a best friend in middle school, but me and him grew apart from each other...
I started dating his younger sister, and got her into Halo.
Me and her were playing together one night and he joined our party cause it was his sister.

thats the first time me and him have talked in years!

What can I say, I have used the "want to play halo" as apposed to "want to watch a movie" aka "lets have dirty nasty covenant relations in bed" and yeah it does work.

P.S. Thanks for the kick ass background music boys! LoL

When entering a new college dorm four years ago, it was very comforting to find that half the guys in the building would play Halo:CE over the school's LAN. I can't even count how many people I still talk to and hang out with years later that I met in the dorms. This only grew with Halo 2, and now we all play pretty constantly online in Halo 3. The consistency of Halo's re-playability and fun from person to person made it very convenient common ground when thrown into a building filled with strangers.
