When the dust settles, you will learn what true terror is.
Beginning with Halo: CE, way back in middle school, I introduced my now-best-friend to the game. I patiently walked him through the campaign, and by the end of the first run through (on normal) we were a pretty good team. By time we ran through it on Legendary, we were soldiers. Over the years, we explored glitches, scaled levels, and created shortcuts together. We had that game memorized, and conquered.
When Halo 2 came out, we were already at the point that we didn't need to talk to be effective. And after beating the crap out of that game, we were no longer soldiers, but Demons.
So once Halo 3 came out, we played through the campaign on normal (each solo, but talking in a private chat) from midnight of release until the wee hours of the morning. Then we played through it again co-op... on Legendary. Over the following month or so, we searched long and hard for skulls, and found all but IWHBYD (which the internet was gracious enough to give us) and we dove into the multiplayer, our partnership already an efficient, well-oiled machine of death. We operated like clockwork, knowing each other's strengths and weaknesses. I would give him the sniper, knowing he was a better shot, and he wouldn't even go near the driver's seat, knowing my driving ability surpassed his. We moved fluidly through levels and maps destroying all that stood in our way. Fighting, supressing, flanking, and out-maneuvering our opponents as we slaughtered them. We had graduated from Demonhood, and were officially Gods.
We kept in touch the past few years thanks to XBOX Live and Halo, and now we're planning to go into business together. So as we go from gaming partnership to business partnership, we thank you, Bungie, for all you have given us.
