So, around 2005 I moved to where I currently live. A few weeks after we had moved here, my sister became friends with a girl across the street. I didn't really care and usually ignored them when they were at our house. A few weeks after THAT, my brother, who lived 40 miles away, got bought a 2nd Xbox and copy of Halo 2, just because he could for around $30 and he needed another for LAN parties. He let me borrow one of the Xboxs and a copy of Halo 2 (after about a week and a half of my non-stop pestering :P).
One day, my sister's friend came over. While my door to my room is usually shut when I play video games, it was slightly open that day. I also didn't have live at this time, so I was screwing around in campaign. While I was busy killing off my marines on Outskirts, I sensed there was someone else in the room. Sure enough, I look behind me and my sister's friend is standing in the doorway watching me. When she realized I was looking at her, she asked me one of the dumbest questions I have ever heard.
"Do you play Halo?"
I decided not to ridicule her and simply answered, "Yes." Then next question was even weirder to me. She asked, "Can I play?"
After I got over the shock of a girl asking if she could play Halo, I quit out of campiagn and we started killing each other in multiplayer. About 20 minutes later, my sister came looking for her friend and found us both laughing because her friend had stuck herself in the face on accident. My sister joined in and I repeatedly wasted them in slayer.
Now my sister's friend and I are really good friends. We used to play Halo together everyday and found a lot of other common interests between us. While she is doing concurrent enrollment in school right now (I would too, but it was a special program she got into. I was an 'Alternate'.), so we can't play together a lot anymore, we still find time to play Halo together whenever possible, mainly because while I have gotten pretty good, she still sucks and is trying to improve. While I'm hoping our relationship will go a little bit farther, so far, we're still just friends.
While that is probably the best friends I have made from playing Halo, I have made a lot more, both in real life and over Xbox Live, that I really enjoy hanging out/playing with.
Bungie, thanks again for an AWESOME game. :D
