My story is actually the opposite of finding love through halo, i actually lost my girlfriend due to Halo. Apparently i spent way to much time playing Halo and not enough time spending it with her. So me and my girlfriend of 2 years broke up shortly after the release of Halo 3. But seriously who needs women when one has Halo? Halo never whines and complains at you or could possibly cheat on you. Now i can play as much Halo as i want. Which is fine with me. Apparently im too obsessed with halo, well i like my obsession.

I actually got the score that I needed on the ASVAB to get the job that I want in the Navy. I want to be a Machinist's Mate (Nuclear), which is just a guy in the nuclear power program who works on nuclear reactors but you need a high score on the ASVAB to be eligible and I was really worried about getting the score. I got a 29 on the ACT and I talked to a guy in the Navy who got a 31 on the ACT and still only got an 88 on the ASVAB which is about where I needed to be, so I figured that I was going to be lucky if I got an 80. The day of the test I was really nervous about it and anxious to get the test over with, and when we finally got the test I was almost more nervous than I have ever been in my life. During the test I was doing ok, until I got to the math section- math has always been my weakest subject. I ended up making "educated guesses" on quite a few of the questions because there wasn't enough time for me to work it out really, and that made me even more nervous about getting a high enough score. I was thinking that I would be lucky to get a high 70's then. I made it through the other sections of the test as fast as I could, it is timed, and then at the end there a special section for the Navy, , which gave you a random 6-7 digit number (somewhere around there it was a while back), which signified a product, such as laundry detergent, and then you had to find the product that it was in a grid of numbers about 7 x 5. So that's a block of around 35 serial numbers that you had to sift through to find the answer after you had already determined that answer. The questions came in packs of 7 and there were 84 total, and a time limit of somewhere like 7 minutes (again not sure), and the beginning of the test says that it's not bad if you don't make it through all of the questions, as most people weren't able to make it through all of the questions in time. When it started I was little apprehensive, but then I realized that it was just liked scanning a room for enemy spartans, of looking for that sniper hiding in the distance; it was so similar that I even kind of had fun with it and it was almost like playing halo. I made it through all of the questions in around 4 minutes, and I came out of the test thinking thinking that that part wasn't actually that bad. When I got my test, the lady proctoring them said congratulations on my score, and I inquired as to where the score actually was. She pointed to a 98 on the page, and I was so happy that my knees almost buckled. I couldn't help but grin, and I was pretty much giggly all morning. That really made my day, and I truly think that Halo 3 and my hours spent honing my skills in game helped me get the score that I needed to be eligible for the job. Right now I'm being investigated to see if I'm eligible for the job (it requires top level security clearance), and hopefully everything will go according to plan. If I get that job I'll be set for a fulfilling career in my dream job, and no small part of that be due to Bungie in my opinion. Thanks for making such a great game and being such an awesome studio.

In order to be old and wise, you must first be old and stupid, so make sure to be reqally stupid to you can be really wise.

I met some of my friends through halo, and now when i forget a homework assignment, i just send a message and they reply with the assignment. It way better than talking on the phone cuz if your on the phone. you can't bash them in the face if you get mad. And im trying to rule a country called "Zanzibaria" but not many people are left, The giant spinning blades are a bit of a problem.

Legendary Grunt

Well..all I can say is that Halo really helped everything.
Ive met loads of friends on it, some of whom I know in real life, or who are about 20 mins away.
Although ive gone through my own amount of girls ive met over xbl, none of them have I ever gotten into any "relationship" with, I am going to see a girl I met in New York (I live in Texas) who've ive known for a while now. She (Her name's Ally) was one of my friends friends, and I started talking to her, and we just got to really know each other, and go figure, we started talking about that time to go see each other. Im going to New York in about mid-Juneish, and she said she'll be waiting for me there. I cant wait, and neither can she. Who knows what will happen, all I can say is that were goin to have some real fun, especially me owning her at halo :D

Plans I have after meeting her, will be another girl from Pennsylvania that i've really wanted to see for a looong time. I met her on halo 2 during a game of Headlong if I do recall it was. I joined one of my friends party's (Props to LilPhillips) and I started to get to know her from then on. We talked and talked, and eventually we exchanged phone numbers. I texted her during school, or when I needed somebody to talk to, and she was always there when I needed her. I will eventually have arrangements to meet her sometime soon, but only time will tell. Here's her gamertag: Xx Devcon4 xX

Other than that, ive met a few really good friends to play tournys with or go hardcore in MM. Only 1 person I can really mention and thats LiQuiD i XeRo (Tommy other wise) Once I met this guy, I really got involved into the community, originally making me get a bungie.net account to be honest. He inspired me throughout the Halo universe in ways of clans/movies that I cant even explain. Me and him actually plan to meet sometime this summer..hopefully ;)

To tell you the truth, Halo has done alot, but along the lines of dating and relationships, even more so!
Thanks Bungie!

Although we didn't meet via Halo, and she doesn't play the game herself, this is a story of my tolerant wife that I've been meaning to share.

I have to give her credit for putting up with my obsession. From my time spent on the forums, playing the game, and collecting Bungie memorabilia, she's been a great sport through it all. As a Christmas present a few years back she gave me a mint copy of Myth and Pathways into Darkness, sealed in box, to help fill out the old collection of Bungie stuff; a collection that culminated in my purchase of a Nightmare Armor MJOLNIR helmet signed by members of the Bungie team.

So after my bachelor party gallivanted around Vegas, wearing a different Bungie shirt every day, it was back to concentrate on wedding planning. After giving me the green light to have my Groom's cake be shaped like a Septagon, we still needed to cover what music to have during the ceremony. Most people didn't believe me that it was her idea to include Halo music in the wedding, but it was. I originally tried contacting Marty like a creepy stalker for any wedding-ish Halo music suggestions but lacked the proper persuasion to garner a response. (I knew I should have promised decadent coffee beans.) So, she suggested that we be introduced to the Halo theme but with one condition. I had to wear the Masterchief helmet. The hardest part of the decision was to decide between the Halo: Combat Evolved theme, or the Halo 2 theme. In the end her wisdom shined through. She stated: "Halo 1 does seem more appropriate for a wedding with the softer music in comparison, but with Halo 2, people who have played the game will instantly recognize the electric guitar intro and those who haven't will wonder what's up with the Beethoven meets 80's hair band music." (Her words Marty. Beware the wrath of a women's scorn. :D )

It helped that only a few people knew what was coming the day of the wedding and seeing the crowd's reaction through a mirrored visor was a spectacle in itself. On one side were all of our younger friends laughing their asses off. On the other side were my parents shaking their head with the 'That's our son.' look, the in-laws smiling and clapping with the 'Is it too late to back out?' look, and several Grandparents wondering why I was wearing my helicopter helmet from work. Either way, here's a picture from the wedding:
Wedding 117

Even on our honeymoon in New Zealand she tolerated my shenanigans.
Bringing Bungie love and man-beards to a glacier near you.

I'm lucky to have someone who rolls with my nerdiness and I most certainly love my wife.

fantastic wedding. the guests look thrilled.

My friend Matt went into the military, and though he is now overseas, when he was stationed in Alaska we played Halo over XBL as much as we possibly could. Kept our friendship stronger being able to kill things :D

I got a great story for ya...I started playing Halo when I found out there was gaming server at our University freshman year. I didn't know it got so competative until I saw a neighbor having a blast playing 16 player system link FFA slayer (This was before live btw)...
Before my parents left me in Daytona my first year, my dad surprised me with a Green Halo edition Xbox with the game. Everyone knew to contact me via the dorm phone system for a match...it's was a blast...

I started classes during the Fall and had some difficulty in programming because it was my first time doing any code. I didn't know who to ask for help on my floor. I heard a knock on my neighbor's door and it turns out to be a girl in my programming class who I met at orientation. She had been asking around for the homework and I thought maybe I could get the work from her. We soon began talking and working together. She was awesome! The only problem in my eyes was that she was a tomboy and dressed in long shirts and sweatpants. She never showed a more femine side to her. We got to know each other pretty well as the time went on.

The biggest excitment came when they announced that a Halo tournament would be sponsored by one of the organizations on campus. On the day of the tournament I was a bit nervous and I really was anxious to get started. After a couple of rounds and seeing the teams play, I really wanted to jump right in. One of my teammates points out this girl that comes toward us and at first, I'm thinking in my head, what girl could get all of their attention. I turn around and find the girl in my programming class dressed from head to toe, make-up, and everything. She looked fine! It shocked the hell out of everyone! My nerves were chilled when we talked and my team took the first round easy. Eventually I got hungry and the next match was coming up for the semi-finals. She asked me what I wanted and I was in the mood for some quick cereal so Frosted Flakes was the first thing I said. Sure enough, 15 minutes later she came back with frosted flakes and even bottled milk from the cafeteria which is on the other side of campus. I knew this one was a keeper! Although I lost in the semis, I won the girl in the end and made her my girlfriend after that...

For Halo 2, she even waited on line with me at the stroke of midnight to get the game. The game reminded us of how we got together! She later played from their on out under the name Nudefemale and actually wasn't too shabby. She welcomed all challengers and was always willing to show what a girl can do...I've even played with her from time to time...I always wear my 3 shirt now that I got as a gift from my parents and really that's how long we've been together 3 years. Overall Halo brought us together...hope this helps Frankie!

Without ME it is only AWESO.

I met some cool guys on Halo. I never planned on meeting them though. I met a cool guy at my school through Halo, and a lot of my other friends IRL play, along with my cousin. The only interesting story I have is how everyone in my small Northern Indiana city was affected by Halo 3's release. Everyone wanted in on it and even the teachers said that he wanted to get out of some conference so he could go out and buy Halo.

So heres my story

I started playing Halo 2 through xbl as soon as it was released, I played online with a few of my school mates, After awhile we met some people and became friends with quite a few of them. I later became really good mates with one of them. While playing Halo 2 we learned how Most of the america popualtion is completely retarded and has no idea how the world works! After this we stopped playing Halo 2 as there we too many cheaters and Americans to put up with. In 2006 i Had a rough break up with my GF, My mate which i met on xbl was there to help me (That sounds kinda -blam!-) as I lost most of my RL friends thanks to the fact that my ex is a complete and utter whore! We looked foward to Halo 3, which turned out to be not that great of a game and i would rather play COD 4 since i dont want all that Host crap that Halo 3 offers! Thanks to Bungie doing nothing to fix their broken Game!

Thanks to my mate for sticking by me and teaching me how to abuse and completely use Women

Hopefully they feel the same. As for the love part of this. I have a few friends that if i had to, i would give my life to save theirs. I know thats deep but its the truth. Thanks Bungie for making a game that has let me have the best friends i could ever want.

its really amazing on what you can do and what you can achieve in Halo3 and Xbox live.
and thanks Bungie. I cant imagine a world without you guys.

Quit talking. Start playing.

i found out this girl was coming to my high school who played halo, this was sort of a revolutionary thing for me and it was indeed quite unheard of, my girlfriend of the time despised halo and hated that i played it and had tournaments and stuff, this was roughly 2.5 to three years ago, she was all worried and freaked out at me that this girl who played halo was going to steal me from her and stuff and it was really annoying, so anyway i got to know this girl and she was really quite good at halo and she was hella gorgeous at the same time and we became pretty good friends, i never cheated on my girlfriend, in fact i had never been unfaithful before, but she was constantly worried that i was going to leave her for this other girl, after almost two years of a relationship where she didnt trust me and was jealous and didnt want me to be friends with other girls, i ended the relationship, i was pretty set on staying single for a while because girls were trouble and i didnt want to be tied down, but only a couple weeks later i got to talking with my halochick (which is her gamertag lol) and she told me she didnt believe in being jealous like that and it was stupid, we hooked up a few weeks later and have enjoyed 8 wonderful months together! i love you katie!
