Live is better than any PC online experience IMO in terms of its structure and integration, aswell as ease of use.

Plus its either Office chair +monitor or Armchair+widescreen TV

of course ill get halo 2 on pc if/when it comes out for it.
ok, i'll give you credit for xbox live for halo 2. It does have a few things better than the online features for halo on pc.
But ive played a few games other than halo 2 on xbox live, and you know what, their live multiplayer features suck major a$$. this is the reason i dont get an xbox, because i would only be playing 1 game on it. but the biggest reason i wont use xbox is because to play online you have to pay, monthly. i dont have to pay anything for pc online. and for those of us who either dont have our momies or daddies to pay that, or we dont have a credit card, we stick with the pc.

Heyyo,

As usually, the $box flamers step in first and proclaim that their $box beats a pc anyday... jeez that's old. For charging you monthly to play online? they better give you free beer or chips, or somethin'... but no, cause M$'s a greedy monopoly, and you guys are their joy cuase you spend massive amounts of money to play their games, especially online.

I wrote maybe buy Halo2... cause I'm starting to not care cause I heard Halo2 for $box isin't as great as the hype behind the game......

I actually like playing on an office chair and on my 24 inch monitor and I also perfer to not pay for internet fees for games which is Xbox live or those MMORPG either. Halo PC multiplayer doesn't need to pay another extra 50 dollars, so what if you can't talk on the game, its kill kill kill!

you guys do know that you do need to pay for internet service, right?
but internet has other benifits, like -blam!-, and bungie.net. also, Xbox live costs more than internet nowadays. a LOT more

Got Xbox, Got LIve, Got Halo2 and it is fantastic live.....Multi-player Boards are superb, U can see the common themes from Halo CE Multi-player. I agree though....would rather not have to pay...PS is free, PC is free...just got to pay the Braodband Highwayman....then Mircosoft, well they want an extra £40.00 for a years subscription, well...I'm not sure I'll re-subscribe...don't have the time to go live as much as I'd want....Girlfriend hogs the big TV....not good playing Halo on the wee TV..but I might just have too. Project Gotham 2...man alive that's good, no guns though...Fifa 2005.....still to try. Once Halo 2 is on PC...don't see me using Live much....I get peace and quiet on the PC...Girlfriend, Daughter and Dog...always get in the way in the Living room. One of thos ewas a great Idea at the time moments! Halo2....Well done Bungie Shame U left the Cliff Hanger, now we know there is more...there will be more?

dude, if you are an, how did the Mard put it, oh, yeah, $box lover, get off of our happy little PC forums... Also it costs about $300 for the $box, Xbox Live, a couple of good games, and also the fact that you can't have a life to play $box!!!! Also, DUH, there is going to be a Halo3, There are seven Halos in the "Halo Galaxy"... So, guess what, There are probably going to be 7 Halos, and for those of you who can't see that, that's SEVEN...

Yes I would definately buy it. It would be awesome. It would be a little hard to get used to playing on the keyboard or however you would play it. I think it would be awesome if they made an actual xbox controller with a USB port, so you could plug it into your comp. But I wish I knew if it was coming out and when, or if its not a possibility. But I know nothing.

Maybe. I have heard such bad things about the online play system.

What happened to simply finding a gametype you like, on a map you like, on a server with a good ping?

If they dont have that for the pc, Im not going to bother.

And why do you have to pay for xbox live? Do they have a huge amount of servers running the games? Not as far as I know. And if the pc lot can manage it without having to pay loads per year, why cant xbox?

Where does the money actually go to?

Live! does not use your existing internet connection, what it does use is the connection hardware, router, modem, whatever, to access the Live! servers. Faster your hardware the better the connection. The online play system has 2 options, the ranked system, and the un-ranked system, the ranked system does not allow you to choose the map or gametype, its just for you to jump in and play. Un-ranked lets you choose a map, gametype, invite players, and play, but your level is not affected and there is nothing to ensure the game has balanced players etc. The money you pay for the Live! subscription connects you to the servers, and provides you with free downloads for X-Box games you own, you don't need an internet connection to have live, Microsoft introduced Live! to get the online PC geeks to switch over to console games, cause now you can play the same as on a PC, against anyone around the world, which is the main draw of internet gaming.

My reason for not getting an X-Box is that you can't beat the control and flexibility of a mouse and keyboard.
