Subj: Help for Dissertation questions (Bungie contact required)
Hi,
I'm currently doing some research for a dissertation for my 3rd year of a Digital Media course in the UK, looking at how games such as Halo 2 & 3 are integrating with the web to create a complex online community to allow for the sharing of user generated content through the web (such as images, stats and files), and to understand why there is a need for portals like this and what it actually add's to a game. I will also be looking at other developers such as EA and their EA Gamernet system for Tiger Woods 2008 and also Skate (it's not as complex but still adopts game to web integration), and I will also look to question other FPS games such as Call of Duty 4 to understand why they didn't develop a similar system to Bungie.net when statistics are stored within the game. This dissertation will be focused on the Xbox 360 rather than the PC although classic games such as Half Life and Quake (for PC) and their communities will be looked at for research and possible influences.
At the moment it's still in a research phase but I would really like to ask an employee of Bungie some questions to get some insight into what has been developed, what the influences have been, and where they think the technology will go in the future.
Does anyone know who would be the best person to contact for a request like this?
I will also be creating a survey which I would like to post a link to on the forum if there isn't a problem, this would just question gamers about what they think of the Halo & Bungie.net integration.
Thanks for your help.
James
