Subject: Bungies "Always" Right

Freedom of Speech does not equal "Freedom from Consequences when one speaks".

It is a right, and all rights have responsibilities associated with them. Ignore the responsibility, and you tend to lose the right.

He's the best moderator here.

Even if you believe them to not be right, they always have the last say in everything.

i just got a "well deserved warning" for sharing a respectable opinion from a "CERTAIN SOMEONE"

It seems that you may have miffed a certain someone before. I would suggest alternate behavior to avoid hippo licking.

You are all loved beyond measure.
I, like you, am a light-sound-vibration complex that resonates with others. I have hopes and dreams and ambitions, just like you! I AM, and so are you! Yes, we are one and the same, you and I.

No; they readily admit that they are human. I do not know why you feel this way, but I suppose it can be tempting if you disagree with any of their actions as they apply to you.

This is my opinion and i wanted to share it and see what other people thought and so far its pretty even

But by no stretch of the imagination, can you call this a valid halo 3 topic.
So, I am "right" in telling you that it is off-topic and I would also be "right" if I decided to lock it and even discipline you for knowingly ignoring forum guidelines.
But I will use my discretionary judgment (look it up) to instead move this to the correct forum (where you should have made it) for discussing this site, the rules and those who enforce them.
You see? There is "right" but there is also the ability to choose different courses of action. I certainly hope that you start making wiser choices of your own.

Maybe you should have renamed this thread instead of moving it, Recon.

Call it: "Watch Recon Number 54 own the OP of this thread."

If a mod annoys you, it's probably because you did something wrong. Otherwise, they would probably leave you alone.

It is not Recon's responsibility to not annoy you. He can annoy you if he pleases, as long as it doesn't interfere with his role as a mod. And I would like to see an example in which he did something to annoy you personally.

Moderators can absolutely be wrong, BUT NOT ON BUNGIE.NET.

They are here to control the forum and keep it from getting out of control, not to be nice to you.

You're lucky he didn't lock it, if you asked me if a mod was ever wrong, I might say, "Recon should have closed that thread and taught that kid a lesson for real.", instead of being nice, but that's just my opinion.

But to reiterate my main point,
A mod can be wrong, BUT NOT HERE.

What?
You got a standard warning/notification that your thread had been moved from the incorrect forum to the right one. It is there to give you a link so that you can find the thread and follow it to its new location.
If there is a problem that you have with a particular rule, you can discuss it here. If you have a problem with a moderator, you can either try to sort it out with them privately, or speak to a master forum moderator (privately) and if that is not helpful, you can speak with Achronos (privately).
I was under the impression that you were having difficulties or problems understanding or accepting that the moderators understand and enforce the rules of this site. If that is not the problem, but it is a personal one... then I would strongly suggest that you discuss the matter using the private channels that I mentioned.
But if you have questions or issues where the rest of the members can offer insight, share their perspective and perhaps everyone can learn from the exchange, then by all means, that is the benefit of an open discussion.

Well Recon, if you are the one he has a "problem" with, then he is already on the second tier of your heirarchy of complaining.
You are a "Master" Forum Ninja.

So, tubey, if you are unable to solve this issue with Recon, the next logical step in the succesion of authority is Achronos.

So, you would talk to him next.

But personally, I would not reccomend that, because you are wrong. Don't waste your time talking to Achronos if you're wrong in the first place.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Yes, unless I think the opposite as them.

EDIT: Stupid typo.

I find that as long as one follows the rules, it doesn't matter whether a mod is right or wrong because a confrontation between member and mod will never take place.

Responsibility is bestowed upon the mods because Bungie (or more specifically Achronos) trusts them. By virtue of that alone, we ought to give them the benefit of the doubt. Also, in the same way a heroic member who can't behave will not keep his / her heroic status long, a mod who doesn't live up to the expectations set for him will not be a mod for long. The mods, being human, are obviously not perfect, but you can be certain that they consider the rules far more than the average member when posting.

While they deserve respect because of the responsibility Bungie has given them, remember that aside from the ninja title they really aren't any different from the other members of these forums (the ones who follow the rules anyway). All of the mods (past and present) I've conversed with and/or played Bungie games with are pretty cool people.

Thanks for fixing my post. Darn typos.

I suppose the saying goes like this: Mods do not determine who is right, only who is left.
