I have been playing awhile now without ever grabbing up either an overshield or a cloak. I rarely assassinate sleeping grunts (but I will nail an elite in the sweet spot while his back is turned, I mean come on!). I pass up all weapons and health caches until I am literally on empty (I will go forward to the next, never back) and have one lil red health blip left. I find this makes me more thoughtful on how I approach my battles. I have noticed this less reckless style of play has also cut my deaths down overall. My goal is always to make it as far as I can without dying. Some levels you can go the whole thing without dying once. Some levels you will die, die, die, die no matter how careful you are (darn flood!).

Anybody else out there play like this??

I have to admit that i gather health packs and ammo, if their there ill use them its the same for the active camo and for those sleeping grunts. Whats more fun than punching them of the over head bridges.

No judgement being passed, I just switched to this way to change up how the game plays. After 4 years of CE playing it just adds a different element to the "same" game is all.

Try going through the game without ever using the human pistol. Makes the game a lot more difficult and interesting.

Spray and pray, and get ammo when you can. On legendary... I tend to have to melee everything.. unless I remember I have nades...

I do that on occassion, and you are right, it does make things more interesting. Actually, it is how I found the Plasma Pistol to be as versatile and great a weapon as it is. The most annoying thing about not using the Magnum is taking down the Banshees without it. It is alot more difficult (when you do not have a Rocket Launcher), and means that my weaps combo is usually the AR and the PP. That combo is fun with the elites, take the shield down, pop numuerous rounds into them and finish them off with a melee. When I do not use the Mag, I find I have to use the Health Packs alot more often! But it is a fun way to play, no Mag that is.

JADE STONE ROCKS

I like to play like you aswell...the heart beat makes it feel intense. especially with the bass turned up!.

I would like to see a HALOverse game that involes stealth,a grappling hook and lots of silenced weapons like crossbows and swords aswell as MP5 types and silenced pistols ect..... "The Dark Spartan"...... or something.

I think a more assassin oriented game, as cool as it sounds, would be too far from the grand scale of the combat in CE and 2. The type of game you are talking about would be cool if there were a part of the Halo world that was more espionage oriented than combat oriented. That mission might be to assassinate a prophet, something along those lines. But with the MC's skills, the available technology and the large scope of the Halo experience, it might fall flat on its face. Now if the MC got mixed up in some screwed up time shift, and found his lonely self without cortana in some medevial setting....hmmmmmmmmmm............naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh hhhhhh, never mind, I prefer large calibre's and big explosions!
