Simple Answer: No.

I like them. Keep things moderately under control. Nothing to strict. I see no problems personally.

I for one think they are.....for example people are not allowed to talk about that-which-must-not-be-named whcih is a type of armor which i think everyone would like to discuss. Another example which I find is the worst of all is the fact that we are no longer allowed to make screenshot or film clip 'contests'.
I mean this is a forum that we the public use a hell of a lot and what are forums for.... discussing and (for the mulimedia type ones) reviewing each others items.Im using this example mainly because its a forum and that doin these '''advertise your screenshots here!!!!''' contests would lower congestion and lower the amount of people that constantly do the dreaded bump.......

I like what one of the forum ninjas have done with the stickies to make these type of contests but why can't we as we are the ones that use this most?

It's as if these forum ninjas would rather us all continuously ponder over how many views and ratings we receive with out s'shots rather than people from all over the world debate on what type of armor or what type of screenshot looks the best in one place?

Well I have a lot more i'd likr to say right now but i'm not gonna and havn't got much time really...
I don't hate bungie at all.......I just think that they should cut us some slack when it comes to the forums or do something to help us keep different types of clips, films or screenshots in maybe one place so people can see rather than open up five new internet tabs to look at different friends ones everywhere else.

Well.. I'd love to hear what ytou guys think of this matter and hope a Ninja would just see where I'm comiing from....

P.S and to everyone thats gonna reply this right......IV'E READ THE RULES AND WHY THEY EXIST SO DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME FLAMING.

see you on xbox live!

I think that if anything, they should be harsher. Hopefully the 'Report as Spam' button will help bring spammers and so on to the... attention of the moderators faster. [:

No. It's a HUGE user base, with a large amount of immature users. To be honest I'd be fine with it being even stricter.

In my opinion, it is not the rules that are harsh.
The consequences are harsh.
You cross the line, you get crossed out.

It all depends.
Break some minor rules and you're usually free to go with a warning. Break some major rules and you'll take a vacation from Bnet.

Thats odd. I was convinced that in fact, nobody wanted to discuss that. I just thought that people wanted to complain about a useless armor perm that they want only because they cant have, and whereupon not recieving this armor for all the great things they do, they then want to blame bungie and flood the mods with requests or hatemail. Thats no discussion, thats forum clogging spam and should be punished.

As far as the other rules go, they are perfect. Nothing is allowed that will definetly start arguments, nothing gross is allowed, and the mods have just enough power to be effective.

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

I think the rules are fine.

Trying something once will increace your chances of success, because you tried it. Try someting twice, and your chances increase yet again - seeing as you've done it. Try something a few thousand times, and your chances of success is exponentially increased; this increase would likely provide success every time

I hate to sound rude, but in all honestly, you made me chuckle. The Forum Rules aren't even harsh; anywhere. They are what rules are meant to do, keep everyone in line. Now, for my explanations for you, since you may or may not know the reason behind the bannings of several topics.

I for one think they are.....for example people are not allowed to talk about that-which-must-not-be-named whcih is a type of armor which i think everyone would like to discuss.

The reasoning behind this is rather simple; people talked about it too much. When it was allowed, and you pondered over to the Halo 3 Forum, you would see a dozen topics about the armor; and that is only on the front page. Not to mention, in most of the threads about the armor, it was either asking you one would get it; or if the original poster could have it. Thus; the community felt tired of having to see every topic in the Halo 3 Forum being about the Armor, so we/they took action.

I could understand this from your view, however, there is one thing that has always shown up whenever I went to the screenshot Forum. Always, every single time before this rule was set in place. That is, there would be one thread for advertisement, one single thread on the front page. I refresh the page, and one more pops up; brand new, telling people to advertise their screenshots there; then another, and another, and another. You see, these and the Contests aren't actual contests nor are they to advertise your very own screenshot; they are to get your attention, so you could rate and download the original posters content. Nothing more.

Basically, every rule is there for a reason.

My YouTube Channel. Just getting into the Machinima business.

No not really. I do feel that there are a few things that could be done differently, but overall I'm happy with the rules. About the no making screenshot advertisement threads, I'm glad to think I may have played a part in making that happen.

Taxes do nothing to affect the share of wealth, since taxes are only applied to income.

So that's not even a part of the conversation at all, so it's pointless talking about it....

"for a "best" moral to exist, there must exist the "best" moral base. If the base of morality varies from location to location, culture to culture...then there can't be an absolute moral..

no, the rules are just fine as they are. we can talk about nearly anything that we would like and we are expected to be civil. i see no problem at all.

man. They would of had these rules if people weren't so stupid and abused them to hell and back. they sort of have to make a counter everything because of the amount of trolls that try to get their hands on anything they can abuse. You should see the amount of trolls that log on here everyday. Without those rules. This place would be a "real" mad house. But even still people are dumb enough to break it. And as for recon amour. I could care less.

Theirs nothing special about it except the fact that only a select few can have it. I actually think its quite dumb. It's only for appearance. Having it doesn't make you any better of a gamer than you already are. I mean. If you really want it so bad. Craft an actual helmet and jump off of a plain and show bungie how much you want it.Or you can do a barrel roll. Who cares. It's just amour. If they took those rules off. I would be pissed.

I totally agree.
Also, everyone should donate 1 liter of blood and 1kg of flesh to Bungie before they're allowed to post here.

damned metric system.

That's like a quart of blood and 2 pounds of flesh, right?

Should be 2.205 pounds of flesh and 0.260 US gallons(?) of blood.

You guys should use the European standards instead.

Only European standards for measuring mass, velocity etc.

* Light year? Based on how long it takes our planet to orbit our sun. Biased.

A light year is the distance light travels in one year in a vacuum, or 9.4605284 × 10^15 meters. Outside of your attributing of time and distance, the two SI bases of what a light year is, as being biased, a standard light year is probably the least biased thing there is. No matter where someone is, the speed of light is constant in a vacuum, so it is, theoretically, not so biased.

Everything else, though, is correct.

Edit: Oh, you specifically meant the year part. In that case...well, my argument is invalid.

On topic, the rules are as strict as members here have made them. We only have ourselves to blame.
