What is the hardest level on Single Player for you?

Mine is probably the Library or the level in which you first discover the flood and you have to get out of the building.

Truth & Reconciliation has several of the hardest checkpoints in the game. Two Betrayals is also pretty tough at times. The Library isn't bad at all on Legendary because it's not much different than playing on Heroic. Just have to watch out for Flood with rocket launchers and don't let the Carrier forms explode near you (pistol them from a distance).

Actually, I think that the first and last levels (Pillar of Autumn and The Maw) are the easiest on Legendary. Not easy, just easier than other levels on Legendary. The Two Betrayals I think is THE hardest level on Legendary. It is also the longest level on Legendary. Other than that level, I think The Library is pretty hard to get through. There are lots of parts where the enemies just keep on comin' and it seems impossible to get past. Maybe it just seems hard because you keep going through similiar areas over and over and you have no idea when it will end.

Ya i agree with you, also the more fun levels are "Assault to the control room" and "pillar of authum", damn fun for me. The library is boring and tedious, from my point of view. Also "silent cartographer" is fun too. The easiest?....... The maw.

I think that the Library is pretty hard, but the most fun levels for me are probably the Maw, Assault on Control Room, or the Pilar of Autuam (the first level). Those levels are pretty fun.

I think the library is the overall hardest level on legendary. However, some of the hardest spots in the game are not in the library. The truth and reconcilliation has 2 of the hardest spots in the game in my opinion. The 2 betrayals also has a couple of really tough spots.

The Library is actually pretty easy if you use the right tactics. Here's a few that I use:

When possible, kill the flood one at a time as they come around corners (with the shotgun), rather than running out in the middle of a dozen flood and getting killed.

The pistol and shotgun are the ideal combo here, not the assault rifle and shotgun. Pistol them from a distance and use the shotty up close. Use the melee attack to kill the little guys.

Use the human pistol to kill them from a distance. Always shoot the carrier forms first. They will explode and kill any nearby combat forms. If you kill them from a distance with the pistol, you're in no danger of getting killed. If there's a large crowd, lob a frag grenade into the middle.

Watch out for carrier forms (the pregnant ones). Keep an eye on your radar in case they sneak up behind you. NEVER let them blow up near you, and always watch out for grenades laying around when you kill them from a distance. The chain reactions can be deadly.

In the room where it locks both doors and traps you in (I think it's on the 3rd floor?), don't try to fight the flood. Hide in the corner, and when a bunch have poured out of the pipes, bounce some grenades off the ceiling (so that they land in the middle of the room) to kill them. They won't know where the nades came from. After a minute or so, the door will open and you're home free, without a scratch! The remaining flood are easy to take out.

When possible, retreat and fight the flood from a distance with grenades and the pistol. The flood are most deadly up close, so obviously your odds are better from a distance.

Don't even bother with the Assault rifle. Sure, it's convenient for the popcorn guys, but otherwise it's a complete waste. Besides, the popcorn guys can easily be killed with melee attacks.

If you do it this way, the Library becomes one of the easiest maps on Legendary (besides The Maw and PoA). :)

the POA, MAW, and Silent cartographer are relative walks in the park in legendary compared to the other levels. assault on the control can be made a lot easier if you take out the guys sliently. this is where any experience with splinter cell of metal gear comes i handy. ive made it through entire rooms of sleeping grunts, killing evryone inside with melle attacks, awake grunts elites and jackals included. but the bridges can be a -blam!-. with repects to the library, i think it is more of a pain in the behind than anything else. because there is plenty of room to manuver when u need it, and lots of cover to tak advantage of. i think keyes is the hardest level because you fighting both covenant and flood i massive numbers at the same time, plus the fact that the flood just keep coming if you dont keep moving or retreat to far
