So I checked the sticky up top and saw there was nothing that could help me with this, so I decided to make a thread, in hopes that someone wil be able to help me. Now my labtop isn't the greatest but it gets me by for small games with my friends. Before I moved to this new place I live in now, I use to be able to sign into Xbox live on vista with no problem. Now everytime I try to connect it gives me this, "Cant connect to LIVE. A connection to the network is not available." Now my brother also has a Windows Vista labtop, and he is able to play H2V on live with no problem on his computer. So im starting to think that it might have to do with my labtop...were running of the same connection, I believe we have the Verizon fios as an internet connection. If anyone is able to give me any info in how to fix this I'd greatly appreciate it, thanks!

Try setting the network connection you use to default if it is not.

Also did you add anything to your network, like a router or hub?

I like you, you come here with a problem and use proper grammar and describe it pretty well. Anyway....

Try disabling any network adapters you are not using before you start up Halo 2 or any LIVE game

Let there be CHAOS!

Isn't Live still having problems right now? I thought no one could connect. I can't either.

Sorry it took me so long to repond I got pretty lazy. Anyway I tried resetting my router and nothing, still. And regarding the issue with live, this has been happening way before the whole live issue. When I go to live it says "the network port is in use". And still my other computer can get on live with no problems. Still a bit confused and pissed, anyone have any ideas?

Oh, and Kitty Eat Snow, what do you mean by hub? I originally added a router to one of my ethernet cords (Remember I have a verizon fios connection so I have a modem type router that's all in one, not to great with the technical stuff, sorry), but later on I found out that just screwed up my whole connection. So, I removed it, but still the same problem with connecting to live on vista with this labtop...

Ok try this.

Goto, Control Panel > Network Connections. Right click any network adapters that you don't need on and click "Disable"

Then start halo 2 and Goto, Settings> Network. Then click on your Verizon Connection, exit to the main menu, restart the game and tell me how it goes.

EDIT : Hold, I will take a pic.

EDIT 2: Right now I'm on windows xp but right click those http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y143/abc7896321045/Other/net work.jpg
