it is good for an infantryman to be able to counter vehicles better, but they should also have you move slower or not function properly, just like a vehicle, if you are damaged (not shields, health of course)

overall i don't think it will affect the vehicle THAT much, look at the E3 2004 footage, it wasn't that bad............

U gotta remember that bungie is very concerned witht the balance of the game in MP, that is their main concern is that nothing is too over powering that when it is aqquired that it makes for an instant kill with no skill involved so u can bet if they have added a feature that it has to do with balance i for one am all for it if it makes vehicles less overpowering and more stopable.

AT first I didn't like it. Then I saw how it was implemented, and I was like, wow, thats brilliant. Remeber, it took like 3 rocket hits to destroy that warthog. Thats a lot of rocket hits.

as long as vehicle respawn is on, its cool. did anyone even think of this? you blow up a vehicle, and you never see it again in that game. ='(.
but its an awsome idea. especially sicne vehicle damage actually causes it to suck more. so people who just ram everyone else with banshees will get damaged vehicles, suckier controls, and then EXPLODE! woo hoo.

I love the idea for just one reason, no more ghosts running me over. Yeah, it wasn't that hard to HURT somebody in a ghost by just sticking them with a plasma grenade when they were driving right at you, but it was pretty hard to kill them. All they would have to do is hop out of the ghost as the grenade exploded and they live easily. This way, if you are facing them, you at least have a shot. Skilled drivers shouldn't have to worry about it that much. at least with the ghost. The ghosts were way overpowered in the first Halo. That's right, the ghost, not the other vehicles. It was easy to take somebody out of a tank with a pistol, sniper rifle, or a ghost. It was easy to take somebody out of a warthog with a plasma grenade, tank, or ghost. Notice, ghost is in both of those. But, was it ever THAT easy to take somebody out of a ghost. Only if you are in a tank and the idiot in the ghost comes driving at you head on.

I just snipe them out. But I understand what you are saying, too many times have I been a splat on a ghost's windshield.

Back on topic, I think it is a great idea. Think about all the uses of vehicle damage! Damage the other teams vehicle (it would not respawn, because it is DAMAGED not DESTROYED) and it would move very slowly, perfect opportunity to snipe people as the drive or try to get into the vehicle. It can also be used for traps. Pile up these vehicles in a gate or doorway. First, they would have to move them (completely putting a halt on their advance) or find a way around them (you could easily watch all of the other openings or send people to the opposite side of the blockade to neutralize the threat). When multiple enemies come upon the opening, you could explode the vehicles (think fusion cores mixed in with the vehicles, if you will) and kill everyone around them (not to mention the area would still be blocked by the remains of ghosts, warthogs, etc.)

So, vehicle damage and destruction gets the Koopman seal of approval.

Over all i think this is a really cool thing that vehicles explode and cause death and destruction in their wake, but they say the proof is in the pudding and even tho i know its gonna be cool id hav to play it first.
