ok, halo didn't have bosses. but there were some situations with multiple cloaked elites, veteran elites, energy sword elites, and swarms of grunts. I guess you could consider when you take the gravity lift into Truth and Reconciliation a boss fight.

Is anyone interested in fighting individual super enemies (metroid), or are people more into fighting huge groups of Covenant that might be similar in difficulty to a boss battle?

I for one love fighting groups of enemies, and hope to see many more of these situations but with more types of Cov. and higher numbers.

two thoughts:
Prophet boss?
Forerunner boss?

If boss is definded as 'an enemy that is stronger than the player', then HALO had bosses. Some Elites were stronger than the player in Heroic up. And Hunters always were... but then... there was that thing.

yeah, fighting a group of elites on legendary was like fighting multiple bosses at the same time. I hope the combination of Brutes and other unnamed Covenant monsters to the current Covenant crew will make huge battles in halo 2 near impossible to beat on later difficulties. I know that this is one of the things people will be playing halo 2 for years after it's release.

cloaked brutes?
can prophets fight?

I hope they don't put in "bosses". That makes a game so cheesy, and linear. I hope they stick to just integrating the difficulty and situations like they did in HALO. I can't see them totally changing the way they do things and adding them....

Maybe the secret Covie not yet released to the public is a giant, leviathon creature that takes about 3 minutes to kill. but can kill you with one shot. This particular one could be on the easy difficulty setting, okay? just kiddin

Bosses would definetely ruin the game. I mean there are parts of the game where I would spend half an hour dying to just get through there. (bottom of the pyramid on legendary in two betrayals) but I could always run away. A boss wouldn't let you do that. IT would be bad. Extremely hard parts, yes. Bosses no

No bosses. That would be un-Halo-like. Unless you consider that giant plasma turret thing a boss, it might be kind of cool to have to take on one of those things, with the regular covenant all around it of course. I just hope they do do one of those Metroid Prime things where they just make up so weird new creature and throw it in as a boss, cause that's just lame, to be totally honest, in a game like Halo. It fit in pretty well in Metroid Prime, but Halo is nothing like that.

I think there could possible be bosses, but not in the usual way... Make it that you must capture and sacue a prophet(sp?), but the boss like fight is more or less kill the people protecting him.
